Summary
Some time after T2, Simon and Renton have gone full domestic. Simon's fresh out of rehab and buzzing to celebrate his freedom from legal restraints — only to discover a taste for a different kind of restraints.

"How do cock cages work?" mumbled Simon all of a sudden.
Renton could have explained that. "Do ye want me tae show ye?" he said instead.
Simon fell quiet, his pupils blown wide in the dim light.
"Rents, just tell me," Simon said, his voice a bit hoarse. "Whit exactly do ye want tae do tae me?"
Renton leaned in until their foreheads touched, their faces so close his lips brushed against Simon's.
"Everything," he breathed out.

Suddenly, Simon felt a pang of inexplicable annoyance. The toothbrush holder looked ridiculously stupid, and the brushes just stood there in an absolutely offensive manner! Without thinking, Simon batted it off the counter, feeling unexpected satisfaction as it clattered to the floor.
Inspired, Simon aimed at the shaving cream next when he was unceremoniously lifted from the sink. "Oi! No need tae go mental oan the bathroom, ye wee shite," Renton said in his ear.
Unhand me, peasant! Simon protested.

She then watches Simon mechanically pick off the meat from several slices, piling it onto others. Without hesitation, Mark reaches over, grabs one of the meat-free slices, and stuffs it in his mouth. Simon takes a slice with double pepperoni, and they keep going back and forth about which punk bands sold out and which didn't without missing a beat.
Veronika can't contain her confusion. "What are you doing?" she asks.

Yeah, but not with this version of you, thinks Renton. "Simon, no," he says instead.

"Is that right? When's the last time ye had a lassie over at yer place, Simon?" The question hangs in the air.
Renton closely observes the exchange. Simon seems confused as he tries to remember the last time he hooked up with a lassie; Renton does the same and draws a blank. Considering how much time they've been spending together, Simon just wouldn't have the time. Simon probably reaches the same conclusion and, for a brief moment, he looks really lost — or maybe even terrified?

"Does it look like Ah'm givin' a fuck?" growls Simon. It's been a long day, and all he wants is to get off as fast as possible. Renton smirks and Simon realises that he is dragging this out on purpose.
"Quit it noo, Mark, an' get over here!" he demands. The music stars, the distorted guitar riffs drowning the telly's noise from the next room.
"Or whit?" says Renton.

But also, there's a certain satisfaction in knowing Simon is always the top choice, getting the love he deserves. A pleasant bonus is that it annoys Renton, and Simon finds annoyed Renton adorable.

His shirt is soft under Renton’s fingers, and underneath, Simon radiates body heat. The sensation is vivid to an almost disorienting degree, as if Renton’s entire skin has been rewired to feel the world in high definition.
