Henry’s favourite thing about owning a small, independent bookstore is the smell. There’s something about the smell of paper, especially freshly printed paper, the kind inside books that have never been cracked open, not once. They may have been picked up a few times by someone who was intrigued by the cover. They may have been turned over a handful times by someone fascinated enough by the cover to read the summary. They may have even been flipped through a couple times by someone who was interested enough by the summary to want to read a page, a paragraph, maybe just a sentence. And then the big decision - either they were purchased and taken to a good home, or they were put back on the shelf to contribute to that fresh paper smell for yet another day.
On one fateful winter night, Henry's bookstore FoxTales experiences a power outage. Alex is the only customer left in the store.
