“Alright.” Ghost mumbled, mostly to himself at this point. He might not be able to get through to Soap the normal way, but he knew that he would still follow orders. “I need you to go to your room and clean up.” His tone was not unkind, but it held an air of authority that he knew Soap would need right now. He needed the rigid structure. “After that, I want you to meet me in my office. 22:00.”

Now Mira stood outside Zoey’s door, heart tapping a frantic rhythm under her ribs. The hallway felt too quiet. Every creak of the floor echoed like it might be footsteps—but it never was.
She knocked, light but clear. “Zo?”
No answer.
She hesitated, then knocked again. “Zoey?” Her voice cracked a little on the full name.
Still nothing.
Her hand stayed on the door longer this time, like maybe Zoey could feel it. Like maybe that would be enough.
“I didn’t mean what I said like that,” she said softly. “I mean—I meant the words, yeah. But not like that. Not to make you feel like you were too much.”
Her voice faltered.
“I was frustrated. Not with you. Just… with how you kept saying you were fine. And I know that’s what you do, but—” she exhaled, her forehead pressing lightly against the door. “You don’t have to pretend with us. With me.”
She knocked once more, more tentative this time. “Zoey…?”
Silence.
Her hand dropped to her side, guilt crashing back down like a wave.
“…Yeah,” she muttered. “I deserve that.”

Because of course they didn't die in that fight, they just went on a weekend trip back to the underworld, and then they figured out that they could cross the barrier, so long as they remained human on this side. Or, well, as human as they ever got, which is variable depending on which Saja Boy you're looking at. Jinu and Abby? Yeah, those are just guys walking around, annoying Zoey by ruffling her hair when she just did it up, and eating her snacks. Romance and Baby? Mostly human, for sure, just a little… off, sometimes. Romance will be reeled in by Abby, though, and Baby just sits in a corner looking entirely terrifying with his angelic face.
