Don't worry - this is a long haul endeavor. Zoey is my favorite character because I relate to her the most and I LOVE writing some angst and hurt/comfort from her perspective - and I have tons of ideas for hurt/comfort oneshots involving her and Mira and Rumi and Bobby and our favorite comfort animals, Derpy and Sussie! I see Zoey and Mira and Rumi as friends/sisters - I suppose you can read many of my stories as Polytrix if you squint, but it's intended to be read like they're best friends navigating the complicated world of demon hunting and stardom with their adoptive father Bobby. Summary
Zoey was nervous. She was sitting in the corner of her room, in her mother’s apartment in Korea. It was 3:25 AM. She wasn’t sleepy—her head was full of thoughts. She lifted her hands, placed them on her head, and took several deep breaths. On the screen was the email to send her demo and see if she could be selected. She let out a laugh—if she sent it, she had nothing to lose. If they didn’t call her, she’d just go on with her life and never have to mention it again. But… what if they *did* call her? She bit her lip. Even if they did, it didn’t mean anything, she thought. She would just have to show up in person before the one and only Celine from Sunlight Sisters and see if she was selected for the K-pop group she was forming.
“Screw it,” she said as she hit “send.” When the confirmation appeared, her lip finally split and she tasted blood.

She wasn’t looking at Mira. Her voice was tight, like it hurt to speak. Mira watched her with a furrowed brow, still quiet.
“I feel so guilty all the time. Because I love you, Mira. I love you, and this doesn’t change that, but I see her and I want to make her smile and I want her to hold my hand and I think she’s beautiful and weird and sweet and I—”
She finally looked up, tears shining in her eyes.
“I think I ruined us. And I’m so sorry.”
Mira just stared at her. Wide-eyed. Silent.
Zoey’s heart dropped. “Say something.”
Mira exhaled like she’d been holding her breath for a month.
Then she visibly deflated—shoulders dropping, head tilting back against the wall—and let out a quiet, choked laugh.
