Summary

Over the next three thousand years, technology advanced astronomically, and the people of the overcrowded world took to the stars. Now, the Avatar is an obscure myth, bending is regarded as a relic of a dead past, and only two of the original countries still exist: the Fire Nation, one of the most powerful forces in the Union of Allied Planets, and the Water Tribe, clinging to life on the Outer Rim, still fighting for the dream of independence. The latest civil war ended seven years ago, in a landslide victory for the Alliance.

Katara and Toph go to the tea shop and discover Zuko is waiting tables way earlier than in the show. Slower exploration of Zuko's life as a tea server. Also the Dai Li are terrible customers. The Gaang ends up coming to Zuko's aid, but that might make things worse.
Eventual and slight Zutara feels because I ship it like I'm a playwright for the Ember Island Players. But I also suck at anything remotely romantic so ... you have to squint to see it. And I try to be fair to all canon ships.

I really, really liked it when Zuko offered himself as a prisoner to the Aang Gang and I was offended they didn't take him up on it.
The Gaang are still good guys, so this doesn't get too dark, but Zuko is good at bringing the hurt on himself all by himself. Zuko/Honor is the most abusive relationship in this fandom.
Mostly canon-compliant. Relationships that aren't cannon are ... merely flirtation. Sorry.
