Harukawa is looking at him like she’s disturbed, like she’s only just now realising that this isn’t a lie, her hands clenching and unclenching at her sides. “You…”
She doesn’t finish the thought, though, trailing off and looking slightly lost, and when he’s sure she won’t continue, he lifts a hand to rub the back of his neck, letting out a breath.
“Okay,” he says. He wants to know what Saihara means by sidekicks, but there’s so much that’s confusing to him right now, he doesn’t want to reach for excessive information and get his head even more muddled than it already is. Instead, he runs his hand through his hair, wrinkling his nose when it comes away sweaty, and reaches down to wipe it off on his hospital gown. “Uh, I got another question, if that’s okay?”
“Sure,” Saihara says, breathlessly, one of his hands lifted to cup his mouth. “What is it?”
“Who am I?”

Summary
In which Mumbo crosses several towns, learns some creative methods of self-defense, fights some monsters, sees things no human is meant to have seen, befriends a stranger, steals multiple cars, has inconvenient moral scruples, grows increasingly terrified of his own culpability in the apocalypse, grows a spine, blows up at least one building, accidentally prevents a murder, and attempts to find his best friend in the futile but ever-burning hope the man’s still alive.
He has to say, he’s so exhausted and terrified that he thinks he might just be mad?
(OR: the one where, after most of humanity turns into a series of terrifying monsters, Mumbo decides he’s going to risk his life on an apocalypse road trip to try to find out if Grian is alive. Things, as you might imagine, devolve from there.)

The flower on the magnolia tree was so heavy that it was scarcely attached to the branch any more, Boris noticed. “I don’t know,” he said. “Probably to tell him I am still here, alive.” His green eyes were cloudy. “To get… closure, like my therapist said.”
Kamal let out a long breath. Boris couldn’t see his face, but he heard him turn and scoot closer to Boris. “Would you like for me to help you?”

left a bookmark on all of these because the art is fucking gorgeous (the lighting, the colors, the expressions, the anatomy, the way the comic panels are organized- it’s all fantastic) but this one stands out because after playing through this game with my boyfriend i can tell you one thing i learned about him: he definitely can’t drive in video games. and guess which character he played?

It’s always such a big, climactic moment in the movies. That’s what she’s expecting. Fireworks. Love confessions. Some kind of dramatic build-up. Or any build-actually, she’d settle for a little bit of warning before plunging in head first. (If it could even be called that.)
What happens instead is her friend Mahiru says, “Ibuki-chan, I dare you to kiss Chiaki-chan,” at a sleepover during their sixth year of elementary school, and her eyebrows shoot up behind her bangs. Figures Mahiru would go for something like that. Her friends are shameless.
Still, she leans forward and rests her elbows on her knees. “Which one?” She asks.

(A piece about fumbling your way through your first relationship, trying to distinguish between platonic and romantic love, and realising with a shock that you're falling in love with your best friend. Most of all, though, a piece about growing up, and surviving along the way.)

Wow, this guy asked a lot of questions. He looked adorably lost. Tommy could point him in the right direction, but his mention of the break room reminded him of the nonsense on the wall in there, and he fought down a snort of laughter. Maybe the new guy would appreciate the signs.
