Summary
Ava needs the time and space. At least, Sara assumes she does. Ava has the death of Director Bennett fresh in her thoughts, the new responsibility of being Director Sharpe and figuring out what that means. Sara would want time and space, if she were in Ava's position.
Sara doesn't push it but she does think about it, every day. She has breakfast, eats her oatmeal and fruit and thinks about Ava stealing a blueberry and winking at her, flirtatious with the kind of bravery that comes from a morning after. She sits in the jump ship and drinks her tea, and thinks about calling.
(Or: Sara gives Ava space after the events of Episode 3.13, until she doesn't. Hurt/comfort and slow, tender sex.)

I absolutely love this entire series - its optimistic tone despite descriptions of difficult circumstances inspires hope. This story is a great example of having hope despite also having fractured families and communities. So good!

Lucy's bi. Lucy is . . . one of hers, in way she's never felt connected to anyone before. It still feels strange, this twist of something else under her skin, reaching out through her fingertips to make connections with people that otherwise she might have nothing in common with.
Alex is starting her coming out journey and Lucy shows up in town. This fic is wonderfully truthful in depicting the initial struggle when you’re coming to terms with being queer. It also portrays Alex and Lucy’s relationship in a really fond and warm way.

She stood at the helm there, at Fury's shoulder, in streaming daylight and in the peaceful dark of a moonless night pinpricked with stars somewhere high over the Atlantic.
The helicarrier rumbled under her feet and Fury ran a fond hand along one metal wall, like Coulson did with that car of his, the way Sharon stood in the Triskelion and nearly glowed.
Fury called it cancer once, after Loki’s attack was over, once Barton was back in the fold and New York saved. She kept in step behind him as Fury walked the helicarrier halls, reviewed the damage, as he mourned.
“No, sir,” she said. “Just war.”
