Summary
Hermione catalogues Draco, from his expensive dragon leather shoes to the tips of his manicured fingers. He is one of those boys who have suddenly grown into a man’s body, and despite the suddenness of the change, already seems so at home in his skin. His arrogance draws the eye as much as it irritates. Even though Hermione has always assumed he’s far out of her league (physically, if not morally), she can’t say that she hasn’t had a day-dream or two about touching, and being touched by him, even before she saw him in the library.
Here’s the question then, what it all comes down to: is the opportunity to make those fantasies a reality worth the chance of ridicule that could come from confessing them?
Then again, she’s already cried in front of him, been beaten by him in class, and walked in on him en flagrante.
“I would say we might be able to come to an arrangement.”
The corner of Draco’s mouth lifts into a smirk.

Hermione could smell the spice of his cologne, something slightly woodsy and old… like parchment from the restricted section of the Hogwarts library. The scent oddly suited him and his antiquated existence in this formal, strict sector of the Wizarding World.
She shook her head slightly as if to remove the smell from her brain and returned to the matter at hand. “Would people truly believe you’re courting me? A muggle born?”
Draco’s gaze snapped to Hermione’s face intensely, searching it. “I will make them believe,” he said with such conviction that Hermione found it impossible to argue.
“How do you plan to do that?” Hermione asked, annoyed to find her voice sounded quite breathless.
“Leave that to me,” Draco said, a smirk taking over his face that Hermione had never seen at Hogwarts; it was charming and dangerous at the same time. A flush crawled up her neck and sat beneath the dense twist of curls at the nape of her neck.

Regulation 83C had been a clause in their work contract. It had been listed under Section 13: Fraternization. It stated that any two or more operatives who’d participated in sexual activities with one another, whether on or off the clock, willingly or under duress, had to file an 83C. It would detail the events in full, and require all parties to appear before the DMLE board and Minister for Magic to review the incident, wherein all statements would be read and judged on whether or not any actions were deemed necessary.
OR…
Draco and Hermione hide out in a cabin in the French Alps during a blizzard after failing an important mission.
OR, OR…
Two special operatives avoid being intimate due to potential backlash from work, even though the conditions are perfect for it.
(I got the title from the fic “83C” by Emerladwoman. It’s kind of an homage to “part” Three. Really. That entire fic was * chef’s kiss *.)

Malfoy shook his head, his eyes crazed. “Granger, I can’t control what I’m saying! You’ve done something to me with that potion! I feel like I’m going mad.”
Hermione scoffed, though as she took in the blonde boy's wild eyes and still too pale face, panic started to bloom in her chest. Maybe his sickness really was making him delirious. “Malfoy, hand me that vial. I need to see if you took enough.” She demanded.
As the boy handed her the vial, she examined the contents. The small amount of liquid was not light blue, or fizzing like it usually was. Instead, it was as clear as water. She felt her heart drop to her stomach, as she eyed Malfoy in worry.
“What? What is it? You’ve poisoned me haven’t you? Am I going to die?” Asked Malfoy frantically as he took in her expression.
Hermione bit her lip in worry, still holding the potion in a shaking hand.
“Malfoy.. Please try not to panic.” She swallowed, “But I think I may have mixed up your remedy with Professor Snape’s veritaserum.”
