Summary
Never tell a Soul. Never Let Yourself Be Seen.
His mother's words had been pounded into Lance's head from birth; a warning to prepare him and keep his family safe. He's managed to hide from the Garrison and even in space. But, much to Lance's chagrin, the universe has other plans.
When Lance contracts an alien virus while out on a diplomatic mission that starts attacking his Mer form, Lance figures it's just a "space cold". He brushes off the others' worry and tries to continue as normal. But the pain is getting worse with each passing day, and he hasn't had a moment's peace alone to change forms and see what could be causing it.
When everything finally hits the fan, the team quickly finds that Lance is in much worse condition than they had assumed. Lance is not only dying, but he's changing right in front of their eyes.So much Hurt and Whump in the first chapter. So much good Bonding and Comfort in the next two. Let's do this y'all! (Sorry, Lance)

Summary
Lance had had the occasional nightmare as a child, who hadn’t honestly, so having them while in space fighting against an alien tyrant hell bent on controlling the whole universe? At least some things were universal. As the nightmares persist, Lance takes to wandering the castle at night, and it appears he’s not the only one. After a chance run in with Shiro the two come to a simple agreement: If they can't sleep alone, why not try sleeping together?
If only things stayed that simple.

Summary
Lance McClain constantly dreams of the day he'll finally meet his mysterious soulmate. They don't say much, if anything at all, but they leave him with gorgeous paintings temporarily tattooing his skin. It's not exactly the situation he hoped for, but when he feels the connection between them, he can't bring himself to resent them. As much as he wishes his soulmate would just talk to him, he's resigned himself to being patient. In the meantime, he has a loving family and good friends to help him get by.
Keith Kogane dreads the day he'll finally meet his obnoxious soulmate. He's just an art student who's struggling to find his place in the world. There's so much he hasn't been able to control in his life, and the thought of having a soulmate, just another thing in his life which he also has no control over yet can't do anything about, is a little terrifying. So he ignores the words that occasionally appear on his skin. He has other things to focus on: like being a new student at a big university where his childhood friend and step-brother go.

When lance arrives at The Garrison as a cargo pilot, he wishes he could go home. When Keith leaves, he expects to be respected by the teachers. When he joins Voltron, he thinks he might finally get the attention he deserves. He's wrong about a lot of things, but he hopes he's not wrong about the trust in his fellow paladins. Lance never expected for no one to answer his call for help.

Set after Season 2 Finale, stress and tension runs high as the Voltron Team spirals down into chaos trying to locate their missing leader. This causes a series of events which results in Lance being separated from the Team after he takes a hit from a Robeast while defending Keith.
As the team attempts to locate their missing two team members, Lance tries to discover his own way in the universe without the assistance of Team Voltron, and ends up in a place and position he never thought he'd be in.

Summary
Lance is rescued from Galra captivity and the brutality of the prison guard known only as The Warden, but upon his return to Team Voltron and the Castle of Lions, not everything is returned to normal. Not only does he have to deal with the aftermath of his imprisonment, which he can't remember much of, but he also has to deal with the changes that have been made in his absence. Needless to say, he's having a hard time adjusting. And to top it all off, he isn't exactly the same himself.

“Lance!” Keith’s voice is lost in the roar of the pulsing air that knocks Keith back through the opening of the tunnel.

Book 1 revolves around Lance, a waterbender of the Southern Water Tribe who runs away from home to Republic City for hidden reasons. There, he meets Hunk (the earthbender engineer), Pidge (the nonbending child-genius), Shiro (deputy of the city police), Keith (pro-motorcyclist and rival??), and the unknown firebender with a Red Lion mask. When the Galra and family matters get mixed into play, things really start to go downhill.
