In this dream, he opens his bedroom door to find a long tunnel that goes down and down and down; in his dream, L calls to him from beyond the grave, all the way from Yomi, and begs Light to bring him home.
Based (roughly) off the Shinto story of Izanagi's journey into the afterlife to bring his wife back to the land of the living.
His voice is soft. He says, “You left him so long, and he got so hungry, and you know once the dead eat from the bounty of Yomi they belong to it for forever and always, but you can have him anyway.”
