Ilya's face has got a little rosy tint to it, where the sun burned him. He complained about it to Shane, and demanded healing kisses which he got without complaint. “She cheated on me. With you. We broke up!” He growled, hands coming up before he could stop himself and shoving the man in front of him. “Why the fuck did you fuck my girlfriend?” His voice had risen a bit by this point, and his frustration was palpable.
Why did Rozanov not care that he’d just ruined an entire relationship? And why did Ilya Rozanov look smug at the idea that he and his girlfriend had just broken up?
Rozanov frowned at Shane’s hands still on his bare shoulders, but he had moved maybe half an inch from his shove. Rozanov raised an eyebrow at Shane, dropping his arms before leaning forward an inch further, their faces almost touching. Shane involuntarily sucked in a breath.
“Are you jealous?” Rozanov asked quietly, gaze flicking between his eyes and mouth. There was the tiniest smirk on his face. Shane reeled back, eyes wide as he stared up at the man before him.

The room tilted slightly, and Shane’s throat was raw.
He swayed there a moment, scanning the spinning room for somewhere to steady himself – for Haas or Dykstra. Ilya had been right; he should have slowed down, stayed with his teammates. He hadn't listened, and now he was alone, 2 Moscow Mules and 3 shots deep, stuck at the bar and lost in a sea of people.
Shane just wanted his husband. The alcohol hadn't yet done anything to alleviate the effects of the music and lights that encircled him. He felt trapped – suffocated – like his skin was fusing itself to his stiff muscles. The room spun faster, and the Canadian wasn't convinced he was standing upright anymore. His heart pounded in his ears as the music rattled his ribcage once more, an insatiable itch beckoning his blunt fingernails.
He wanted to scream. He wanted to rip his hair out. He wanted to tear his clothes off.
He wanted Ilya.
“Selfish,” he muttered under his breath, tongue heavy as it touched his teeth.
