In the aftermath of a bloody war, the way to a lasting peace treaty comes in the form of marriage; generals of their respective armies would be offered as consorts for the heirs of their nations. “████. ████.” Phainon blinked dumbfounded. “I’m sorry?” Phainon asked. Mydei gave him an odd look. His entire body seemed to glitch in and out of existence. Steadily. Like a heartbeat. Once. Twice. Thrice. And then he steadied himself. “Are you alright?” Phainon asked worriedly. Mydei nodded slowly. “███ ████.” Phainon stumbled a bit backwards, just the slightest bit shaken and taken aback. Concern overwhelmed his boyfriend, who quickly closed the gap inbetween them, attempting to lay a comforting hand on Phainon’s shoulder. But, as Phainon braced himself for the moment of impact, he glitched right through it. This time, Mydei noticed it too. The two of them shared a confused look, confirming Phainon’s suspicions from the past few weeks.
He wasn’t going crazy. He wasn’t slowly losing his mind. Something oddly was going on. His dreams seemed too realistic to be just that. Pieces of conversations seemed to go missing. Certain events not taking place at all. Locations suddenly disappearing and knowledge slowly crumbling away. And overall, a quiet voice in the back of his head never seemed to quite shut up at all.
“Subject █████ attempt at the…” “failed.” “…perished,” “…progress has been rolled back.”

His hand twitches as the gash is licked tentively—a mix of pain and pleasure. The blood that dripped from his hand, all of it, was tasted greedily like a sinful elixir. Yet, for the both of them, Dan Heng knows it is far from enough.
“Blade,” he spoke his name nonchalantly.

Mydei looked at him puzzled as if he was dropped by his mother on the head. He then figured that Phainon must’ve been praising his new metal claws. He scraped the others, and they ended up bent in certain parts after a tough brawl, so he had to commission a new pair. Although they looked exactly like the last pair he had. So why was Phainon acting all weird now?---
Fic takes place before Castrum Kremnos fell, when Mydei was still crown prince. Not much changed tho, they are still very gay for each other.

Ratio exhales a weary breath, lifting a hand to signal a pause. He takes a moment to steady himself before coming to a decision.
“You are unbelievable,” he mutters beneath his breath. “Fine. I will try the damned thing.”
Following their tribulations in Penacony, Aventurine and Ratio receive an unexpected gift from Jade—a much-needed vacation at at the most exclusive resort in the cosmos.
With only each other, the sun, and the beach for company, it's a stark contrast to their everyday lives. As they struggle with the complicated shift in their relationship, a disappearance at the hotel, and the constant battle to keep their emotions in check, it all threatens to unravel completely.

“You make it sound so simple,” Blade muttered bitterly, before his expression and voice seemed to soften imperceptibly. “I… didn’t expect this.”
Or; Dan Heng finally stops running. Can the shadows of two people who loved each other in a previous life salvage something from the ashes of their tragic shared past? Dan Heng isn’t sure, but most importantly after learning the truth, he’s willing to try. Over several nights spent in each other’s presence, he and Blade find a way to move forward, together.

He knows he should at least feel something, shame or sadness, but all he has room for in his head is the bitter taste of bourbon on his lips. He takes another sip, and then all that's left is melting ice.
It's just another messy night filled with an embarrassing string of mistakes, and Aventurine is sick and tired of self-destructing alone.
