Willie's thumb traces circles on the back of his hand, comforting him. "I thought, maybe my grandmother wants to connect with her only remaining family. That's how it started out, too. It really seemed like that was her intention. But then she asked about—I can't even remember his full name. But she asked me about the prince of Beasiga. The prince of Beasiga, who was my father."
