Katsuki works as a consort, a type of vampire hunter that tricks vampires into dark corners so he can stake them. His latest target may be bloodsucker royalty, but Katsuki has this down to a science.
Aizawa thinks killing Todoroki Shouto is their ticket to taking down the biggest clan in town, so Katsuki gets all nice and dolled up to do what he does best. It’ll be a piece of cake, just like every other hunt, and they might even make him a ranger for it.
There’s only one problem.
Katsuki can’t do it.

Todoroki’s eyes widened slightly. "If you're not a Sub, then this shouldn't affect you, right?" His gaze locked on Bakugo's face, and he lowered his voice before using a Directive command. “Kneel."
Bakugo’s legs folded underneath him before he could even think, his knees hitting the floor with a soft thud.
Shame burned through him as he knelt there, unable to move, unable to disobey.
Todoroki sucked in a sharp breath. “What the fuck?” he whispered.
Bakugo couldn't speak.
“Why did you have to put yourself in danger like this?” Todoroki demanded, his voice rising with anger and fear. “This mission is too dangerous for a Sub. You could have gotten hurt."
Bakugo stared at him. He’d expected Todoroki to get angry, maybe to yell or storm out. But this fierce concern, it was so far from what Bakugo had imagined.
Todoroki shook his head. “And you shouldn’t have been able to obey my Directives like that,” he murmured.
“My suppressants haven’t been working right since the beginning of the mission,” Bakugo admitted quietly.
Todoroki was silent for a long time, his brow furrowed in thought. “Or maybe… it’s because you’re supposed to be my Sub after all.”

Todoroki stood near the net, eyes sharp and calm as the ball arced toward him. In one smooth, practiced motion, he stepped into position and set the ball up with flawless precision.
Bakugo was already charging in. He leaped into the air with explosive power, arm swinging back like a hammer, his body coiled with energy. The gym went silent for a moment.
The ball rocketed off Bakugo's hand, slicing through the air—but it missed the court, landing with a loud smack just beyond the backline. Out of bounds.
Mirio jogged over, his usual bright smile still in place despite the error. "Nice power, Bakugo, but try to adjust your form a bit next time. You—"
Before Mirio could finish, Todoroki, with his usual calm and unreadable expression, stepped closer to Bakugo. "The set was perfect," Todoroki said, his tone level but pointed. "Can't you control yourself?"
Bakugo’s eyes flared with fury. "Excuse me?" Bakugo snarled.
Todoroki’s expression didn’t change. "There was nothing wrong with the set. Maybe you should just—"
"Shut up!" Bakugo cut him off, his fists clenched at his sides. "Next time, give me something better to work with. Then I won’t miss."

Bakugo still didn’t know what that meant, so he put a hand in front of Todoroki’s face to confirm his suspicions. Tried doing all he could to make Half n Half flinch or blink or just about anything. But his idiot classmate stood there unmoving, not making any sort of reaction or response to it all.

Todoroki is unsure why he’s going blind, and Bakugo – even though he hates this fucker with all his might – attempts to help this poor extra, as they both go through the days in denial about their newly formed crushes on each other.

"No shit? That's great!" Kirishima's face absolutely lit up. "What do you remember?"

Kirishima froze for a second, his eyes widening as Todoroki’s words triggered something in his own mind.
Flashes of memories began to surface—memories of Bakugo and Todoroki together, Bakugo’s sharp demeanor softening whenever Todoroki was around.
Kirishima remembered how Bakugo had once asked him what he thought about Bakugo proposing to Todoroki. The memory hit him like a punch to the gut, but he kept that detail to himself.
“Whoa,” Kirishima said, his voice filled with a mix of awe and realization. “I think I just remembered something too."

“Oh my God, Shouto, this kid is just like Touya.” Fuyumi says, covering her mouth as she laughs. Shouto’s face contorts to something between amusement and concern.
“Is this really the best place for him to volunteer?” Shouto asks with a laugh and his mom waves him off.
“He really is a sweet kid. I think you'd like him.” Shouto smiles as he takes the last bite of his ice cream, and he and Fuyumi get ready to leave. He hugs his mom tight and hopes they'll see each other again soon.

Katsuki is sick and tired of the way he's perceived, so he decides to go on a journey to change it, and starts to volunteer at a hospital in the city, in hopes that he can bring out a gentler part of himself.
He ends up achieving more than personal growth.
