When it came time for high school, he had his sights set on UA—the best of the best. Only the elite got in, and Katsuki knew without a doubt that he belonged there. Best teachers, best facilities, best students. And of course, with his track record, it was a no-brainer that he'd get in.
Of course, Katsuki didn’t go to UA to make friends. When he looked at the room assignments, his first thought was that he didn’t need to talk to anyone, much less some extra. Why waste time on someone who wasn’t even worth his breath? He flipped the guy off right from the start, acted rude—anything to make it clear that he was leagues above everyone here.
But then, this guy... this ridiculously loud guy... completely threw him off.

Katsuki's earliest memories are of warm hands wrapped around his body. He's known since the ripe age of kindergarten that some fruits are picked early, but just like the seedling apple severed from the branch, Katsuki stopped living when he was six years old, when the first woman to ever love him—his kindergarten teacher—sank her teeth into his flesh and left the rest of him to rot between the bugs and blades of grass.
Or maybe it was when he was seven, when his first-grade teacher showed him what it meant to have something worth living for—even if it was sick and demented—and then lose it in its entirety.
Or maybe it was when he was nine, when fourth-grade rolled around and he learned that fire is warm from afar, but scorches and devours from up close; when he learned that warm hands can easily turn violent; when not just his parents found out what had been done to him, but Deku, too.
Or maybe he died long before any of that. Maybe he died the day that Mitsuki first looked at him with something other than adoration in her crimson eyes. When her fists first rose. When Katsuki first flinched.

Katsuki stares at the new suit on his bed. After maybe fifteen minutes of looking at the same fabric he finally decides to trash it.
What a stupid idea, burning a new suit you bought for a date with your boyfriend.
Waste of money.
Katsuki doesn't even use his quirk to destroy it, he grabs his favorite lighter, flicking up the top and starts with burning the corner of his dress jacket. He watches as the flame builds and swarms the beautifully laced designs all over its blood red material. He watches as the flames finally make it up to his fingers, burning the tips.
It's nothing he isn't used to already.
His phone chimes for probably the hundredth time these past few minutes.
He knows who it is.

Bakugo takes the fall for everything, leaving him with another report on his criminal record and a court case. Being found guilty of car theft, speeding, driving without a licence, hazardous driving, failing to yield against police commands and endangering civilians lives.
Bakugo is granted a second chance, to start his new path to redemption he is thrown into a new school and forced to volunteer inside a local Orphanage.

It took them until the next morning to realize something was odd. It didnt start "odd", not for some of them, though. It began when Denki entered the common room, frowning when he realized his phone didn't charge overnight.
And then a girl who none of the present people had seen before walked downstairs. And had they may tried to explain things logically then, it was all over when bodyless clothes that suspiciously looked like they belonged to Todoroki walked into the common room and questioned why people were acting up. The class realized that this wasn't the flu infecting them one-by-one, but rather a quirk.
A quirk that switched their quirks around.
