Summary
Only two lounge chairs were occupied. Berenger recognized Laurent immediately and raised his hand in greeting as he got closer. He didn’t look so different after five years. He’d always had an otherworldly beauty about him, but he seemed to have grown into it now, grown more masculine. He was lounging on a chair with a blue towel under him, reading a book in the shade. He looked up and gave Berenger a quick smile.
Beside him was a red haired bombshell, holding a fashion magazine in one hand and a glass of iced lemonade in the other. His nails were painted emerald green. He looked up too, watching Berenger through a pair of too-large pink-tinted sunglasses.
Berenger frowned. Auguste had said Ancel was here, but he didn’t see him.
“Where is…?” Berenger started, looking around. And then the red haired youth raised his sunglasses, pushing his hair back from his face, and smirked. His eyes were a startling shade of emerald.
Berenger stopped in his tracks.
“Hello, Berenger,” Ancel purred.

Those icy eyes gave him a whole different kind of look. The man’s gaze was intense, his words even more so.

Damen downed the rest of his drink at once. It burned his throat, but he needed it.
“Do I?”
The blonde got up, leaving his seat and drink behind, as he started walking away.
“You do”, he said, and Damen followed.

“Boy. Saddle my horse.”
Berenger scowled. Just because he didn’t drape himself in brocades and velvets didn’t mean he was a servant. He wasn’t less than just because he wasn’t some painted dandy.
“Saddle it yourself,” he snarled, turning.
There was a youth standing a short distance away, his hair shining as bright as gold and his eyes as blue and clear as sapphires. Berenger’s mouth went dry as he stared at the vision before him. The boy was about his own age or maybe a year younger. He was the most beautiful thing Berenger had ever seen.
He held himself with noble bearing, straight backed and wide-shouldered. Everything about him was perfect- from the inquisitive tilt of his head to his easy stance, his long limbs, his lean torso. Berenger couldn’t help running his stunned gaze down the young man’s body. He was wearing simple riding leathers and a rich blue cloak, fastened at the shoulder with a gold starburst pin.
Berenger’s knees gave out and it was easier to kneel than to try and recover. His heart was racing as he tilted his head down to stare at a bit of straw on the ground, swallowing heavily.

“Well?” Ancel demanded from the bed. “Are you going to come fuck me or not?” He wrinkled his nose, gaze dropping to Berenger's cane. “I’ll do all the work. You can just lie there. I’ll be careful. I can make it good for you.”
“You’re not here for that,” Berenger said, finally stepping into the room so he could sink to the sofa with a quiet groan of relief. “You’re here because you said I was cursed, and you’ll be leaving as soon as they realize you were lying.”
“What?” Ancel asked sharply, indignant. “I wasn’t lying! And I- I’m not a healer. I have a touch of the Sight but not even True Sight!” At least he finally covered up, pulling the blanket over himself. “I do sex magic, for fucks sake,” he hissed. “I can make you cum fifteen times before breakfast, not-“ he waved his arm in a vague but distinctly huffy gesture, “fix whatever’s wrong with you!”
