"And no one else has been here?"
The mech shook their helm, "Nope. Nothing really happens here. Mostly I just lie back in the pillows and wait until it's time to wake up. That's why I was so surprised to see you here."
"So, when you wake up it's back in the real world?"
"Back in my quarters on the ARK yes."
"You were on the ARK?!" Optimus whirled to stare at this strange mech.
"Why, yes, me and all the other autobots. We've been living out of it since we crashed landed on the planet earth," he stated placing his servos on his hips.
That didn't make any sense. Sentinel Prime had taken the ARK during his escape, and as far as Optimus knew there wasn't any crew on board. And what this mech mean by the rest of the autobots? The faction had been scattered to the stars since leaving Cybertron.
"Oh wait, where are my manners? I haven't even asked for your designation," The strange mech stated, holding out a servo to shake, "My name is Optimus Prime, it's a pleasure too meet you!"

"For the millennia that I have known you, there has never been a finer cavalry scout that I could call mine," Optimus reached out and gently placed his servo at the curve of his neck junction. Shifting so that he could cup Bumblebee's face plate, he thumbed the hard shelving of his helm. Bumblebee leaned into the contact, optics offlined—hiding.
Or; Optimus asks Bumblebee to go into hiding, spark burning him from the inside out the entire way through.

Summary
The child schema worked best on the mini-Autobots, their size contributing to their carefully designed 'safe' cues. A double-edged sword, the miniature Cybertronians often faced discrimination not applied to their larger counterparts. Easier to dismiss the concerns of a mini-Autobot because they were just so cute, no? And as with most things associated with children, ultimately not taken seriously. Were the majority of them not dead, Croft suspected they would have shed the infantile designs in favor of ones that accurately conveyed their full capabilities as machines for war.
Bumblebee likely didn't get the memo.
Or; in a world where Optimus leaves out more than a few crucial details... and where Bumblebee is a little less careful... GHOST finds him long before the Terrans are born.

Summary
The war is over, and the Autobots won. Megatron has been cured of his dark energon contamination.
Optimus didn't want anybody else hurt, so there are no death sentences. The Decepticons are in a cross between a prison system and a rehabilitation system, an attempt at getting everyone to get along. The more dangerous Decepticons are restrained in some way or another, and most are living with chosen Autobots. Some are doing fairly well, Breakdown for example. Some don't like the situation and are trying to fight, but they can't do much. And it's harder to fight a foe who isn't hurting you.
Megatron and Optimus are attempting to collaborate with repairs. It's working fairly well, since they both have a fair amount of respect for each other.
In all the confusion, though, Soundwave went missing. Turns out there were some mechs who wanted their revenge... and they got what they wanted.
Soundwave, helpless and restrained.
And there's only so much a mech can take before something snaps.
HEED THE TAGS. Bad things have happened and will be happening.
Chapter 7 is particularly nasty. You can skip it if needed, it's entirely made up of a very intense flashback. It just helps explain. -

I need help setting up a challenge which involved (Animated verse) a victorious Optimus Prime with his new maid, Megatron. I thought this could be a fun prompt for anyone who wants to do a fun one shot but I've run into problems setting up this challenge. Click on the 'story' for more details. Soundwave must attempt to survive in a world in which he is seen as a monster while protecting his children and his unborn sparkling from the real monsters that call themselves the victors. Luckily, there are a few kind sparks who are willing to help. Sometimes you must have a downfall so that you might rise up once again stronger and better than what you once were.
