It seemed like a nightmare. Reploids left and right began falling ill, first it was a cough, and then, the sludge.
X was currently freaking out while hunched over the sink in his dorm. Black, thick, sticky oil like liquid splattered all over. His hands and mouth were covered in black, and he knew what was coming.
All reploids who came down with the Oil Flu ended up the same. Choking on the oil they needed to operate until their systems clogged with it. It was a painful process and no cure had been developed, only a treatment plan that worked too slowly to provide any relief for victims.
Cue in Zero, who wished X told him before the Blue Bomber had to give a briefing to the entirety of the Maverick Hunters

His birth was an interesting one.
He could faintly feel the sensation of electricity, buzzing through his chest and head. Especially his head – almost to the point of being heavy. He opened his eyes slowly, the weight of electrical energy making it a labor just to consider taking a look around. When he was able to see, the light made doing so hurt.
He was alone.
Zero emerged from his recharging pod with a headache. It was another one of those dreams. The ones that left him confused and with a strange ache in his chest, like remembering something he wasn’t meant to forget in the first place.

Zero is being chased by the past, when all he wants is his present.
X is being pulled to the battlefield, when all he wants is peace.
Axl is being called to become part of something more, when all he wants is to be loved.
When a solo mission gone wrong and an unexpected revolution force the three robots to come together and take up arms to fight for what they know to be right, can they come to terms with the changes around them, while also attaining what they desire most?OR

It was like returning to a painting after a long hiatus. Seeing the groundwork for what you had created back then, the strokes of the brush, the blending of the colors, the use of light and shadow.
The mistakes you’d made. What you did to try and cover them up, fix them, erase them.
Long since abandoned, written off as a disaster, but seeing it again after so many years…
The brush still felt the same, the paint still spread. The colors still blended.

After the events of Megaman X8 (hard mode). The lull in activity after Lumine’s defeat is foreboding. Rumors of New Generation Reploids banding together to rise against the humans run rampant through the city. Problem is, no one knows where they’re hiding. The Hunters need a lead, a good one.It just so happens that VAVA has a lead that he’s willing to share, for a price.
With little options left, the Hunters take this risky bid, sending Zero alone to accompany VAVA on this mission.

When X wakes up after dying, he's confused. When's he discovers Doctor Light is still alive, he's suspicious. Humans don't live for hundreds of years after all. And then he discovers that his life is a lie and nothing is as he believed. Zero is evil. None of his friends ever existed. The wars never happened . . . . and it's only been three months since he was first activated.
Aka: The X series was a simulation made by Light and upon waking up, X discovers that not only is he in a world hundreds of years younger than what he's used to but he's back to square one with getting humanity to accept reploids as equals. Or rather in this case, androids and robot masters as reploids don't actually exist.

While out on a mission in the Ebott Exclusion Zone to deal with a rogue Mechanloid, Axl finds himself curious about a legend surrounding the place and decides to stay behind to explore after convincing Alia that he'll be careful.
Things go wrong and soon Axl finds himself lost in a world of Monsters and with a strange newfound power. With no way to contact HQ or teleport out, Axl must journey through the Underground on foot. Along the way, meeting new friends and foes while also learning that listening to his trigger finger isn't the only option to solve a dispute.
Will he become the savior that Monsterkind and a group of outcasted Reploids speak of in an ancient prophecy or will he perish like the human children that came before him?

Pallette and X was arguing about that name the other day, either 0 Layer or Layer 0. Axl never understood why both androids wanted a measly ship name to have inner meaning. Axl takes a peek at his seatmate, temporarily blinded with his fellow hunter's enthusiasm.
