“Moment of truth, Hank. Am I a living being… or just a machine?”
Hank stares at him, now. His eyes, full of life just earlier today, when he reminded Connor of how he’d spared Kamski’s android, are now glossy with something else.
He preconstructs every possibility. He knows the regret in the man’s gaze will not save him. He knows he is unsalvageable, a heartless monster. He just waits, now, for him to let go.
Except:
“Was everything fake?”
And Connor stares.
“What?”
( Or, Connor has one last chance to become deviant, on that fateful night, on that one rooftop. As always, it is Hank to reach his hand out to him and offer it. )

‘Connor knew the second Hank turned up on the rooftop that it would not be completing its mission. The Lieutenant was too stubborn to back down, valued his own life too little to cave to threatening. His flipping of sides wasn’t too much of a shock, he had begun to express pro-deviant thoughts in the aftermath of the Eden Club, but Connor hadn’t predicted he would go this far.

Tired and defeated, the android shut his eyes. Tears pricked at them as he thought about how he’d completed his new mission, the mission he chose. He found Hank. He made it back to him, his only friend, the only person in this world that cared about him.
“Hey, hey! Stop that! You’re not dying on me, you hear? Tell me what I have to do and I’ll do it. I’m not letting you bleed to death in my backseat!”TLDR; Connor dies after becoming a deviant and comes back as a machine, but by the time he remembers, it may be too late.

Summary
Simon gave Markus his heart during the revolution. Without a working thirium pump regulator, Simon should have died.
He didn't. And he can't explain why. Probably no one can.
Well--Simon has one idea how he managed to survive. It's so embarrassing, he can't bring himself to face his friends, let alone Markus. He's not sure what it means for him going forward, or why he gave Markus his heart in the first place.
Simon needs some downtime to sort things out. He decides to winter with an old human acquaintance. Unfortunately, he can't stay hidden from Markus--or his feelings--forever.

Cocking the gun Connor heaved a ghostly breath laden with despair, knowing this dastardly decision was the only way to succeed, the only way to stop the revolution and save millions from the merciless machines called androids that had turned deviant. He shifted the barrel's aim locking it onto his creator not a foot away. Elijah's impassive eyes tracked Connor's every move. They flickered, stuttered, phantom-like traces of something emotional flashing within. Fear? Surprise? Shock? Fascination? It was unclear as Connor's head. He was so intensely focused on the man that he didn't regard the subtle glow of red from Chloe's LED and that her emotionless machine-grounded expression altered to fear. Fear for her Creator.
He needed answers and this was the only way to get them. Right?
