He said something stupid and Pete laughed out loud, it was infectious and Jake put his head in the crook of his neck, just relishing in the sound.
Calloused fingers caressed his cheek and Pete pulled back to look at him. "Marry me?" There was not a trace of humor on his face, he was serious.
The first thing that went through his mind was this guy is fucking insane. They have known each other for a few months, this could be disastrous.
"Yes,” was the word that came out of his mouth.
Turns out Jake was just as insane.

These days, Maverick considered himself a solitary man, even though he had friends, the ones who stuck around, he tended to be by himself a lot, especially after his fallout with Bradley. That changed when he met Jake.
Jake enjoys solitude, but sometimes he finds himself feeling lonely. Until Pete.
Bradley walked away from Maverick and everyone else. He feels utterly alone. It will take a while for him to even consider reconciliation, let alone, having a family again.

One year after Zootopia 2, and the Lynxley family secret revealed, the Mammal Inclusion Initiative gets rewritten and broadened, bringing recruits of different size and species from distant biomes and traditionalist towns. To help them adapt, Chief Bogo assigns Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps to lead the newly formed Integration Unit. Training the rookies isn’t simple, however. Each brings fears and old prejudices, forcing Nick and Judy to confront divisions they thought the city had outgrown. As tensions rise, their true feelings for each other start slipping through the cracks. Just as the unit finds its rhythm, a wave of staged crimes, planted evidence, and anonymous threats strikes the city, all aimed at destroying the Inclusion Initiative and what it stands for. A hidden saboteur is determined to keep the “lesser” mammals and reptiles out of the city and ZPD alike. With unity fading and their recruits losing hope, Nick and Judy must guide their team, face their unresolved emotions, and expose the one orchestrating the chaos.
