Urbanshade had been observing him for a long time, and when the opportunity to grab him, they did not hesitate.
dog man was intended to be a test subject, in order to find out his body was able to handle the fusion of his human body and dog head, but things went to shit before he was able to be properly contained, leaving him wandering around the blacksite.

Roselle Valenti, a 19-year-old woman who was falsely accused of attempted genocide. Sebastian Solace, a 19-20-year-old man who was falsely accused of the murder of nine people in cold blood. Adrew Weaver, an 17-18-year-old man who was convicted of [justifiable] homicide. Caspian Rivers, a 19-20-year-old man who was framed for mass arson.
All of them on death row, all of them snatched up by Urbanshade.
The four of them end up bonding over the course of time at Urbanshade's prison, not even knowing what they were going to go through, was a fate worse than death.

How so? By assisting Sebastian Solace and the_p.AI.nter (or just Painter) in delaying the retrieval of the crystal for as long as possible. You do this by tricking groups into trusting you before stabbing them in the back. If you couldn't leave, then by damnit you were going to make sure Sebastian and Painter could.
