Her tired and dead eyes lit up at the sound of warmth. A meal to finally stay in her stomach that didn't make her so ill, a warm bed that wasn't a mattress she found after a lucky score, and no horrible people to run after her if she were to try and survive and thrive. No perverts to chase her until she passed out...because no one knew she was alive.
She stared at the hand of the scientist who somehow knew her. Her ragged, matted hair almost shimmered in the pale light of the street lights. "..." her throat is too damaged to speak a single word, her vocal chords failing her to give a wheeze, but she nodded. She would be safe again.
