One dreadful evening the King and Queen found that their only daughter was possessed by an entity native to the dark sea. The little mermaids baby sister was banished from the castle, cursed to walk the solid earth.
The little mermaid had begged the King and Queen to reverse the curse. They did not comply.
The myth says that the little mermaid wept. He wept and wept until his tears flooded the surface, drowning the humans but one; his baby sister.
Only, the little mermaid did not reunite with his baby sister for he was one with the sea when he had no more tears left to shed.
The fishermen sometimes hear the little mermaids weeps, but there is no one there.
