“Are all boys dumb, Eddie?” Mary asks, her voice low and full of promise.
“Huh?” He is frozen, staring down at her.
“I want you to kiss me, dummy,” she says, tilting her head back even farther.
Eddie’s eyes fly wide, then his lids drop again. He had been waiting for the sign, and this is a billboard with neon lights around it. They look at each other a moment, inches separating their faces. He places his hand on the back of her neck, and she reaches up and does the same to him. He leans forward to close that gap, and their lips meet. -

Hi! This fic is set in an alternate universe where my modern-day OCs Everly and Ro move to Hawkins together and meet the gang. Everly is working through the trauma of having lost her family in a tragic accident, and Ro, her college roommate, is there to help her through it. Together they move into a small house across the street from the Hendersons'; chaos ensues.
Note: for the purposes of this fic, the show ended after season 2 (because I hadn't seen the rest yet when I started writing this, lol) and it has been about 4 years, meaning the older teens are now between 21 and 23 and the younger teens between 17 and 19.

Im not too good at summaries but hopefully my story is better than that lol. This story has no spoilers for season 4 at all. I may include the Cali crew at some point but I'm not sure. All characters that have died in the previous season are still dead but I don't know if I'm going to follow the whole alternate dimension thing and just make this a sort of normal senior year with some added troubles for our characters to struggle with but without the impending doom of a murderous monster from a mirror world.
