He broke off, forcing another laugh, pitching it lighter, brighter, like he was delivering a punchline.
"She thinks you’re in love with me."
The words didn’t land like a joke.
They didn’t land like anything funny at all.

Summer 1993 has begun for Mike, Lucas, Max, Dustin and Will, who is visiting. However, their vacation gets interrupted, thanks to a mysterious crash that occurs in Hawkins. Upon investigation, the party realizes there may be someone, or something, in town with powers similar to El’s. But as they go down the rabbit hole, questions emerge as to what’s happening now. Meanwhile, a stranger arrives into town, and wants to know all they can about scientific and supernatural topics.
