Summary
Legend has always had a complicated relationship with sleep.
Being afraid of sleep came after Koholint.
Legend can’t quite describe it, the way his body instantly rejects all thoughts of sleep. He knows, logically, that he needs it. But the moment he lays his head down to rest, his heart starts racing and his hands start getting clammy and it starts getting hard to breathe. The thought of slipping into another Dream again is too horrible to even imagine. The thought of waking up from one is even worse.
So he handles it. If handling it means that he just doesn’t sleep until he passes out.----
Legend is somniphobic (he has a phobia of sleep). The Chain helps.

Summary
Legend is standing in a field. Grass stretches to the horizon in front of him, dotted here and there with broken or rusted weapons. Stars wheel overhead, faster than they should, contrasted by a stationary full moon hanging in the sky.
He turns, hoping to find some kind of landmark, and finds that he’s standing before a ruin. Bricks, with grass growing in the cracks between them, show the outline where the massive structure used to be. There are pillars lining the ruin, cracked and fallen and broken, though one or two still stand.
And in the very center stands a god.
Legend knows this is a dream. He knows that does not protect him.
He walks into the ruin.

The Link-now-known-as-Legend has been suffering his way through constant social contact for the entirety of the aptly named ‘Chain’s’ run – and it is soon going to become a rather present issue for all those involved. He wishes he could say that the building aggression and steadily increasing paranoia was symptomatic of some perceived intentional misplay, but he is completely aware that his companions bare no blame. And for all his many Quests have left their marks, there has never been a truly unchallengeable reason to take his misgivings out upon others.
Unfortunately – both for himself and his companions – that just means whatever hangups have followed him home from his travels and made him this way will continue to make Legend a force of misery for those around him.

“It’s too much,” Link admits. “It’s too much all at once.” I don’t know how to deal with this, he does not say. He doesn’t have to, not when the silence overpowers the layout of the area and the house is forever one chair empty, a family portrait that will never be complete anymore.
Link buries his head into his arms, ears pinned back and shoulders tense. “I want things to return to how they used to be.” The words are rasped out, as if they are something to be ashamed of. “Before that cursed island, before the Oracles, and before Agahnim.”
Nima has nothing to say to that last sentence, for she knows nothing about going on adventures or being a hero, nothing about fighting or having the weight of a whole kingdom rest on your shoulders, or the sacrifices needed to be made to ensure everyone’s safety. She hates how she has no words of comfort or advice to offer.
or, Nima is not blind to how Link struggles after his travels. She can't watch as he deteriorates, as the sweet young boy he once was is washed away with someone unfamiliar and haunting. One day, she approaches him with the promise of company and a shoulder to lean on, and can only hope it's enough.

The portal closed behind Legend, and he had to sit down for a minute, head in his hands. The cold of night was somehow amplified by his brothers’ absence, and he shivered, rubbing his hands against his arms. What he wouldn’t give to be back in the Chain, sitting around the campfire and sharing stories from their adventures.
Legend has lived through a lot of goodbyes, and he has always known his time with the Chain was limited. That he'd have to go back to his own era one day. That doesn't make it easier to accept.
