Pouncepaw’s supposed to be the sensible one: grounded when Lightpaw is flighty, responsible when Lightpaw is reckless. But she’s getting tired of living in her sister’s shadow and only having one real friend in Flaxpaw. Maybe it’s time for her to spread her wings and rise above her littermate.

Summary
Following the events of A Light in the Mist, Shadowsight feels... empty and lost, estranged from his Clan and his fellow medicine cats. His connection with the Clans forever severs when three of his patients mysteriously die at his paws. With a new code promising to execute any and all Clan murderers looming over his head, Shadowsight flees ShadowClan. Yet, no matter where he runs, blood stains his paws.
Troubling patterns in deaths and disappearances, growing unrest and tyranny, and the emergence of new foes allow darkness and division to seep into the Clans once more. Together, Shadowsight and Rootspring must unravel the brambles of secrecy to uncover the truth before the Clans are destroyed as they know it.

Summary
Riverclan warrior Tawnythroat is no exception to the list of cats who are unbothered by the changes in the code. She personally believes that cats can do what they want and she won't stop them, until a certain cat from Shadowclan makes the changes in the code more important to her than ever.
Pouncestep has fallen in love after a chance glimpse on a cool gathering night. Pouncestep believes that her big thing to rival her siblings will be a cross clan relationship, but when some of her closest friends begin to fiercely oppose the new code, she feels torn between her feelings and her friendships in a battle she never wanted to fight.
Two sides of the same coin are forced to figure out their problems as their world changes fast. With no cat, not even their families, completely sure what will come with a changed code, both fear for what this unexpected friendship may truly be.

A Rootspring x Bristlefrost MAP script set to the song Some Fun Now from Little Shop of Horrors. Rootspring reels from the loss of Bristlefrost and their future together and feels pessimistic about the fates of the cross-clan couples that will come after them as his calls for all restrictions on cross-clan relationships to be dropped are largely unheeded. Sunbeam and Nightheart's blossoming romance offers him temporary hope that love can persist despite these petty politics, which is quickly dashed as the nature of their love, and love in general in his jaded view, is revealed to be something that is fleeting and carelessly toyed with. Haunted by visions of the day he lost his mate and the future they could have had together, Rootspring does not see or care for any potential easement of the current division between him and the other clan cats, who are thoughtlessly moving on to a forever unchanging future together and leaving him behind. But hey, he sure is havin' some fun now.
