Summary
He could have followed anyone if it meant saving the world…but it just had to be an entitled, spoiled, selfish brat mage noble who fell from the fade with the key to their salvation on her hand.
Maker hadn’t he endured enough of this? Kinlock, Kirkwall and now her. It didn’t help that everyday she twisted the knife of the man he used to be further into his open wounds….and yet the way she had looked at him on that night, before it all, before the explosion, before the chaos, before he knew who she really was. They had merely been two normal people in a brief moment of long needed passion….but then…she had lied about that too, hadn’t she? -

Summary
“In this the truth is found. Blessed are they who stand before the corrupt and the wicked and do not falter. Blessed are the peacekeepers, the champions of the just.”
Broken, angry and in the throngs of dependence on lyrium, Knight-Captain Cullen Rutherford has the weight of Kirkwall on his shoulders. Whispers are spreading of Knight-Commander Meredith’s unfitness to lead the templars, tensions between the mages and templars are quickly coming to a breaking point, and dark secrets linger in the halls of The Gallows.
Neria Surana, Cullen’s closest friend in Kinloch Hold - Ferelden’s Circle Tower - finally convinced the heads of the tower to let her transfer to The Gallows. Determined to help her friend, despite her hurting heart, Neria finds herself in one of the darkest places in the world. Unprepared, unprotected and undaunted, Neria vows she will help him.
An Unbreaking AU where Neria makes it to The Gallows, finds Cullen very much changed and very much broken. Will she be able to break through Cullen’s prejudices? Will she be able to discover what haunts the footsteps of the mages and convince Cullen to help her? Can she find a way to bring the templars and mages together before it’s too late?

Summary
Hawke gave Anders another chance. One last chance to make things right. Self sacrifice seemed like the only choice left.
Now, four years later, Anders finds himself breaking free of Meredith’s red lyrium lullaby. Confused and alone, alive despite all odds and hungry for more of the tainted song, he finds himself taken under the wing of a once beggar turned General.
The Red Templars need a healer. Maddox needs a companion. Anders is an anomaly, a mage who craves red lyrium, while Justice craves purpose. A purpose Samson can provide.
“The enemy of my enemy is my friend.”
A hatred of the Chantry brought them together, but can it be enough reason to stay?

Summary
He hasn't been thinking clearly lately, and when there is word of red Templars in the area of the Storm coast that Calliope and her war party are headed to, he makes an executive order to change the missive - much to the Inquisitor's ire who doesn't appreciate his intervention and subsequent mistake.
The mission ends up being a success, but the atmosphere in the war party is practically full of static as the Inquisitor and the Commander of the inquisition navigate an issue poorly.

“Friends, hmm? A mage and a templar, how scandalous.”
Repressed animosity leads Cullen Rutherford to send the Herald to her death during the fall of Haven, and he never forgives himself for it. When she fails to die, yet again, he pledges himself to her, body and soul. And if that means the Mage will corrupt him, so be it.
Evelyn Trevelyan is a good mage. Was. Was a good mage. Now she’s impulsive, sarcastic, a little reckless and… oh yes, infatuated with a Templar. Maker’s Breath, at least she isn’t cursed with a mark that’s dooming her to her own death.
Oh wait…

Summary
For Cullen, the Inquisition was a chance to atone, to make peace with a Templar's regrets. For Evelyn, it was the chance to live a life free of the Circle's restraints and to reunite with the Templar brother she has not seen in twenty long years.
But even in the midst of chaos that follows, there are always quiet moments. Letters from a brother to a sister, separated by time and circumstance. Notes passed between friends, reveling in the gossip that surrounds a burgeoning hero. Strange figures met on the road...and sometimes closer to home. And the friendships and love that grows between the unlikeliest pairs.
This is the story of the Inquisition as told through the letters of its people. And the story of a former Circle mage and ex-Templar who, despite it all, find hope - and the chance at a future - in one another.

Summary
Cullen had not been prepared for her to be here; the last time he had seen her he had expected it to be the last. He had seared the brand onto her forehead and watched as the life left her eyes. Yet here she was standing in the freezing cold, looking up at him with no emotion, the sun-shaped brand just as angry as it had been that day. He felt the guilt weigh heavy in his heart.
"I shall endeavor not to bother you again," she states in reply to whatever gruff remark he had just made.
“Maker, hear my cry,” Cullen begs in his mind as he watches her walk away, "If there is any way to undo what has been done, let it be so."
He never stopped caring for her, and she endured so much to try and care for him. Both carry chains of the past, broken under the weight of them. Neither expects the other to love them.
Will the hole in the sky lead to their unbreaking?
A novelized version of the events of DA:I centered around the love story of Meira Neria Lavellan, formerly of Kinloch Hold, and Cullen Stanton Rutherford, Commander of the Inquisition’s Forces as it unfolded over each chapter of Dragon Age. In a world determined to keep them broken and apart, they fight to be together.

Summary
Cullen is being especially angsty and unpleasant ever since the Inquisition arrived at Skyhold, and Cassandra wants to get to the bottom of it. Not all is as it seems. Spoiler: it's got to do with tHE fADE
Note: Cullen's cranky and therefore being extremely unpleasant to everyone around him, including recruits and messengers. There's one scene where he's borderline verbally abusing one of his messengers, but Cassandra intervenes and everyone's fine. Just note if that makes you uncomfortable

Summary
Athenna Lavellan never saw herself as much of a leader. When fate rears its ugly head, however, she is thrown into a place filled to the brim with shems calling her the Herald of Andraste. She has no choice now but to step up and save the world. She learns she is not alone when she gains the friendships of an unlikely group of heroes and a charming commander.
This story is a novelization of DAI with a strong focus on the Cullen/Lavellan relationship.
Some plot changes, scenes moved/replaced with original writing. I tried to stray from word by word DAI and put my own little twist on it. Please enjoy!

Summary
“I was a glorified prisoner of the state, Dorian. He – all of them – are drug-addled slaves to it. I’m sure they could have become different people, long ago, but the Chantry took that future from them the moment they were dosed with lyrium," Cora says with disgust.
“I could say the same of you, you know,” Dorian says. “Indeed I have done, of all southern mages. But we find ourselves here, now, bent toward the same end. I suppose we’ve all been given the chance to choose our better selves, haven’t we?”
“Yes,” Cora sighs. “I suppose we have.”

Summary
Kirkwall is known as the “City of Chains”. Its jet black walls feel like an appropriate backdrop for a site whose history is filled with dark and bloody deeds. It is also where Theresa and Cullen have decided to make their new home, now that the Inquisition has been disbanded. Together with Cullen’s youngest sister, Rosalie – an apostate and now Theresa’s pupil – and their mabari Cal, they make a valiant attempt at settling down and starting fresh. But the past will not stay quiet, and unresolved hurts begin to fester, spreading their corruption into the present, and possibly poisoning any future they hope to build.
This is part two of an ongoing series, but I’ve done my best to make each arc work as a standalone, so feel free to start here if you like! Please take careful note of the tags. I will be including CWs at the start of relevant chapters, and will do my utmost to approach these topics with sensitivity and compassion. Take care of yourselves!

Summary
Evelyn Trevelyan, once on her way to Senior Enchanter in Ostwick Circle, then apostate, then Herald of Andraste, has accepted the title of Inquisitor. Her journey begins anew in Skyhold as they now know their enemy.
She isn't entirely convinced that she is the best one for the job, but there is too much at stake to stop the ride now. She's getting plenty of additional practice hiding how awkward, clumsy, and terrified she is. Now she must learn not only to rely on the friends and family that she has found and forged in these unlikeliest of places, but on herself; and the complicated emotions that her heart keeps chasing aren't making things any easier.
Book 2 in yet another retelling of Dragon Age: Inquisition. Mostly canon, divergences are like a scenic route. Filling in the holes, building the friendships and relationships, and connecting the dots that we don't see in-game. From the light and playful moments to the dark and violent twists and turns, joy and angst, touching on the darker points thus the M rating. And yes, eventually some smut (patience is a virtue).
