He wanted normalcy, but Morpheus ripped it out of existence, and now he's forced to wear the name Neo like it means a damn thing. The only person who doesn't treat him like some sort of otherworldly being is Trinity, who insists on going by his blue pill name, Hannibal, and never begrudges Will his attachment to the world they all left behind. Unplugging tastes like regret, and hell if he's going to say that to anyone else on this ship.
In the quiet of the nighttime, Hannibal dreams of indulging Will's idea of a normal life again—a comfortably-sized house with a soft dog and a warm kitchen, preferably with Hannibal in it too. He can't seem to shake off the real world bleeding into his dreams though, and sometimes they feel more akin to nightmares.
