Padokea's college for Wizardry is Killua's first and only taste of the outside world without strict and constant supervision. No parents, no butlers, no giant locked house; just him and his freakishly large familiar Mike.
In school, he would make his own name for himself. Not Killua Zoldyck, just Killua. He'd learn magic with methods that didn't require torture, and maybe make friends along the way.
They wouldn't need to know where he came from, or what his family business consisted of. After all, the Zoldyck trade revolved around stealth and subtlety.
It wouldn't be hard for him right?

[Kirugon College AU with lots of angst - oops! - and featuring hot-ass Hisoka as an assistant prof who owns a very questionable bar in the red-light district, unsurprisingly. Ugh, you creep.]
Just when things are going great between Gon and Killua - friendship blooming and being dorm mates and all - Gon goes and finds himself a girlfriend. Not that Killua minds - or so he tells himself, ignoring that wildfire in the pit of his stomach, as though he's not jealous at all. (Yeah, totally not jealousy, he tries to reason.) But with Gon drifting further and further away from him, Killua might just have realized that there is nothing platonic about his feelings.
And that he has missed, probably, the only shot at his own happiness.
And that things go downhill faster than blinking.
