Summary
Steven Universe has been enjoying his solo journeys across America. Recovering from his breakdown is an ongoing process, but it feels possible. A future feels possible for Steven, for the first time in a while.
Unfortunately, fate has other plans. A chance encounter with mysterious Gem technology flings Steven Universe, alone, further from home than he's ever traveled. He finds himself in a new world, full of mysterious superpowered individuals, and not a single Gem to be seen. And this new world has its own set of rules Steven will have to learn if he wants to survive and find his way back to the Crystal Gems and his loved ones.
Content Warning: This story is subject to all the same content warnings as the Parahumans series proper, including depictions of graphic violence, bigotry, governmental incompetence, discussions of sexual violence, and a protagonist who is way in over his head.

Everyone made mistakes. It was something Steven's therapist stressed to him time and again, but he had always had difficulty grasping the idea that other people could screw up as badly as he could. Of course, just when he's beginning to accept this, when he's finally reached his Happily Ever After, someone has to come in and destroy it all.An AU in which Future happened before the movie, and Spinel destroys things in ways that she didn't in canon. The Crystal Gems are gone, half of Steven feels as if he's betrayed Connie, the other half is missing an arm, and the Earth is doomed. What better way to fix things than to go back and prevent Spinel from stealing his Happily Ever After?
In the words of Mr. Universe, it's a one way ticket, and he's ready to ride.
