The fanfiction had been written prior to the events or before Tangled the series had started, therefore why the fanfic explores Marcellus, Quirin and Varian. The story starts when Quirin finds out about a male named Marcellus who was abused by his parents, and later told that he was abused by the orphanage by the king and queen after he took Marcellus to get adopted by him. This is where Marcellus stays with Quirin and Varian as part of their family in Old Corona, and that's where the story begins with Marcellus's journey through "recovery".

    A cassunzel fanfic set in AU. This story is a mix between Tangled the Series and the 2007 movie Enchanted. I’ve rewritten and adjusted parts of the stories to better fit this AU but I also have tried to keep the essence of the characters and what was shown in the series. In this AU Zhan Tiri manages to set herself free from Demanitus prison but stays roaming around waiting for the right moment to strike Corona.

    Instead of rejecting Eugene’s marriage proposal on their coronation celebration, an overwhelmed Rapunzel says yes despite her constant anxiety infused by the many new responsibilities and environments she has to adapt to. Along with this she keeps having strange dreams of a beautiful woman that spends her nights with her in her mind. Meanwhile, after hearing of Rapunzel’s return, Zhan Tiri thinks of a plan to potentially retrieve the powers of the sun drop through her, which leads to her to take deep measures to ensure her plan comes through.
