“Am I getting old?” He thinks aloud, framing it as a question and glancing over at Zuko for an answer.
The kid makes a face. “You’re like 116. You’ve been old.”
Aang clutches at his chest and stumbles as if he’s been struck. “You wound me, my Prince.”
That finally gets a tiny smile out of Zuko, who shoves him with a blast of wind to Aang’s back.

Summary
Sokka is born a firebender. When he's 10 years old, the Southern Raiders take him and his mother to the Fire Nation, viewing his bending as a blessing from Agni. From then on, he grows up with Zuko and Azula as a Fire Nation noble. Though his best friend is blinded (figuratively and literally) by his faith in his father and nation, Sokka sees the truth: the royal court is a game of strategy, and he'll play it for as long as it takes. Once Zuko is banished from the Fire Nation and fails to capture the Avatar, Sokka and Azula set off on their mission to destroy Ozai by playing right into his hands.

Zuko is weak. That is the first fact that little Azula ever learns. Her father teaches her this over and over. Ozai insists that everyone acknowledges just how inferior and pathetic her older brother is compared to them.
Zuko is also kind. This is the second fact Azula learns, and her older brother teaches it to her himself.

Azula then calmly told Ty Lee, “Only an amateur would think that would be a smart plan since I am certain Mai and my brother would see right through it.
“Not to mention, Mai and Zuzu haven’t seen each other in over three years, so who knows if they were still attracted to each other.”
“But what I do know is that we were my brother’s closest and only friends, so by having dinner with us, he will hopefully realize that our companionship is worth more than whatever he thinks this rotten city has for him.” Azula said, confident that Ty Lee would see where she was coming from and stop asking questions.”
Or a Fire Foursome take on what would happen if Azula decided that making Zuko have dinner with her, Ty Lee, and Mai was a better plan to get him to come back to the Fire Nation than setting Zuko and Mai up on an obvious date.

She half listens to Zuko throw his tantrum to get her to leave but Azula just sighs.
Zuko was too soft-hearted—too naïve to understand what she wanted from him.It's always been easy for Zuko to garner people's affection. He had Mother's before she'd ran off and Uncle took him under his wing as if he was his own. It's stupid, and she hates him for it. Azula enjoyed watching him try to catch up to her, try to gain their father's approval like a stupid little turtle-duck.
It's only after she watches her father burn half his face does she realise she's terribly miscalculated. -

Zuko visits Azula at the psychiatric prison, happy that she's making progress both mentally and morally. He finds her in a good and receptive mood on that day too. As they talk, joke and bond they reflect on the childhood they've both lost but finally come to more fully realize how much and how deeply they feel for each other. They begin showing it more openly too.
