Summary
Gaia can't be saved, Jenova's poison too far reaching and Sephiroth tied too closely to her Chosen One. Unable to break that bond, she chooses to steer into it. She completes their bond fully and sends Cloud back in time. This time, if one is killed, the other is halved. Cloud can work with that.
Sephiroth gains knowledge of this bond in vague dreams. A blonde warrior who is a sight to behold, but whose death would mean his own. If he is real, he must protect him at all costs.
Too bad nobody told Cloud what Sephiroth wants.
Or; that one time-travel fic where Cloud is just trying to save Gaia whilst avoiding Sephiroth until last. Sephiroth is just trying to find and protect the blonde warrior whose life is inexplicably tied to his own.

He’s so quiet, but the winter wind carries his words to her, and she holds them close to her chest. It’s not a question she expected him to ask her.
She wishes she wasn’t here, in lonely, crowded, cold Midgar. She wishes she wasn’t here.
“Yes,” she whispers, her throat tightening around the word. To be so vulnerable in front of him feels like she’s coughing out her organs into his hands. “I do.”
He opens his eyes, and he looks at her. Midgar’s stars bleed into his irises, the perfect, frigid blue of them.
“I wish I wasn’t here,” he says softly. “I wish I could disappear.”
Alternatively, Tifa and Cloud, together in a dingy apartment building in a not-so-good neighborhood of downtown Midgar, learn what it means to be alive.

Summary

Zack Fair is an alpha and a First-class SOLDIER. So are his three soulmates and they all love each other very much. Everything would be perfect if it wasn't for the fact that the fifth member of their pack, an omega, died before they even had a chance to meet them.
Cloud Strife is an omega, disguised as a beta and illicitly working as an infantryman. Omegas aren't allowed to work in the army.
