Hajime never thought that he would end up befriending the other candidate for the Kamukura Project. He also never thought that he would end up withdrawing to allow said candidate to become Kamukura Izuru. To think that he would surrender the opportunity to achieve his lifelong dream was unbelievable, but so was him ever making a real friend.
It was worth it to see Komaeda happy even if it meant being untalented forever.
But then the biggest, most awful, most tragic event in human history took place.

Byakuya stands in the center of the room, twitching at the smell of death that surely surrounds the air. Hajime's eyes burn as he watches the Byakuya he never knew, so similar yet so different from the one he came to know.
