Enter Sherry Leblanc, a foreign exchange student assigned to be Aki’s roommate (a long-vacant slot). Sherry doesn’t shy away from dueling Aki and works with her. Judging by the claw-like mark on Sherry’s arm that glows when they duel, Sherry has her own demons. Aki’s never seen anything like it, but she won’t run—not when Sherry has suffered scars on her behalf.
So when Aki eavesdrops on a meeting between Sherry and Director Godwin, who blackmails Sherry into stealing the Stardust Dragon and Red Dragon Archfiend cards from the Satellite, Aki knows she can’t let her go alone. She can’t lose her person.
Across the bay, the abandoned island Aki’s father calls a patch of hell awaits them. Two Signers struggle to recover any scrap of trust from their broken Team Satisfaction. Aki and Sherry must survive and find them in a land foaming at the mouth to tear all four to shreds.

“Two things,” Jack answered through clenched teeth. As the ambulance lights closed in on them, he looked at Aki, then at the dusting of burgundy hair on Adam’s head. “First, Ruka was right...Secondly, everything just got a whole lot more complicated.”
