Summary
After the war, with a little help from outside parties, Kyrat is on the road to recovery and with it are the rest of it's people. Ajay and Sabal included with Bhadra by their sides. With the passing of time, they've fallen into the eye of the rest of the world while building on the cinders of their country. Ajay fears what their legacy will be in life, the way the outside world will view the actions of the Golden Path and Kyrat. They try to restore as much as they can, even transitioning towards a more modern era (at Ajay's insistence and Sabal's apprehension.) This leads to the Western Media finding their way into their country to showcase what the Golden Path is all about. Only their eye for gossip falls on the two leading lovebirds, giving the country what they need with support but leaving them on the front page news bumping shoulders with the top brass of the media world like a couple of Royals.
[This is not a crack fic, Sabal and Ajay are working on building Kyrat as well as their relationship and dealing with the modern take of the world outside.]

Summary
After Sabal takes over as leader of the Golden Path, Ajay realizes his mistakes and fears there is nothing more he can do. He fulfilled his mother's dying wish and returned her to Lakshmana and unknowingly placed another Mohan Ghale in power. The man that Ajay once knew, once cared for and confided in was no longer the man that stood before him. So he did the only thing he was good at, he ran away. Fleeing Kyrat for the states, only, Ajay was soon to understand that there is truly no way to leave Kyrat as it follows him right back to America and continues the inevitable nightmare that he is trapped in.

“An elephant doesn’t need two heads, Sabal.” Ajay spoke back slowly, his words were faint, a cold whisper as if it would shatter the reality around him if he was too loud in his utterance.
Sabal kept his hands at his sides, palms out in a placating gesture. “So you mean to kill me then.” It wasn’t a question but a statement, yet Ajay shook his head as if the answer wasn’t that simple. Nothing was ever really simple in Kyrat.

“Ajay.” Rabi spoke firmly, his tone uncharacteristically tense as he urged the other to cease. Ajay’s grip on the ATV tensed at the terse sound of the usually carefree tone, he sat back on the vehicle, his gloved hands moving to adjust his bag nervously as Rabi continued. “We need to talk. I wanted to- no, I should have brought this up earlier but I didn’t know how to. Dude, you know how much I care about you, right?”
Ajay gave him a quizzical look, dragging out a slow and uncertain. “Yeah.” His brows creased.“Like, I care about you alot, alot!” Rabi emphasized. “Like not in a gay way or anything, though that’s totally fine if you don’t mind it, then it could be taken that way.” Rabi cut himself off, adjusting his rant as he realized he was getting off topic. “Anyway, the fact is I’m worried about you dude. I’m worried because I care because you mean alot to me, you’re like my only friend in the whole world, other then Chotu, but Chotu doesn’t really count like this. I just wanted you to know that.” Rabi danced around the topic, still trying to figure out how to be more direct in his concerns.

His fingers found their way to his radio, pressing the call button, not caring what channel he was on. “This is….Ajay Ghale…” He huffed, giving another hard cough. “I’m surrounded- pinned down. Any Golden Path in the area...of...of…” His breath caught as he struggled through another cough. If the hunters weren’t going to kill him, the smoke was going to succeed. He swallowed hard, the coppery taste coating his tongue as he searched his mind for the place he was in. He couldn’t remember. He had been all over the map the last couple days. The locations were all blurring together into one big mess of Royal Army red and the screams of civilians in need. “Help!” He called out, his voice rising within the tower as if through sheer will, it could reach the Golden Path better than the radio could. “...elp…” His voice trailed, another rasp of breath before he sank down to the floor. One gloved hand still clutching at his radio as the billowing darkness surrounded him.

Ajay's unfortunate run in with a tiger doesn't go as planned, with Chiffon's motto ringing in his ears and a pouch full of considerably appetizing Yak Jerky in his possession, its an interaction that certainly leaves no doubt in his ancestral lineage guiding as far back as Kalinag. Ajay would just rather prefer the tiger encounters remain in Shangri-la and not modern world Kyrat.

He thought nothing of it, just another routine clearing, done with a little extra care not to set the tigers free and be mauled. As the blood pounded in his head, he heard something like static in his thoughts, then a searing stinging pain assaulted his senses. Working through the adrenaline that coursed through his veins, his skin was lit ablaze as the humming static suddenly made sense. A swarm of bees had been nestled into the side of that building, the arrow pierced their nest, setting them off to attack him as the offending predator. Their big fat angry bodies latching onto him, stingers piercing his skin like needles as they vibrated and hummed, biting into him, drawing blood. Hundreds, swarming underneath his clothing. He opened his mouth to scream, his hands swatting at the vicious little creatures as he fled, feeling their little legs crawling across his body.

Ajay finds that the simple task of taking care of an outpost is made much harder when it has killer bee nests all around. Luckily, Sabal knows a few tricks to ease the stinging pain his counterpart has been subjected to.
