Summary
Tommy excitedly walked to his next class. Music.
Music was the best class by far. Not only was the teacher super nice but the work wasn’t hard either. Mr. Dude was a nice man with dark green dyed hair, brown eyes that almost seemed black and freckles. Tommy felt like his smile could light up the whole room.
The boy quickly made his way over to his chair to fall into it. Now he just had to wait for Mr. Dude to arrive.

The question makes Tommy pause. Everyone wanted to be a star right? Have their face mounted on the walls of teens, be able to control crowds of screaming fans with a single word. But for some reason, none of that appealed to Tommy. The words of those on the internet the last time he played with Wilbur echoed through his head. The assumptions people made, the assumptions that Tommy let slip into his mind and left to rot. It was something Tommy never wanted to happen again. “I think I would rather stay in the background,” Tommy finally answers.

Musician slash streamer Heyes has to join a band as a joke because it was his subgoal. Tommy is starting to think that he may stick around a little longer than planned.
Meanwhile: they’re doing this while trying to keep the fact that they’re all Minecraft streamers a secret.

the blood in Tommy's veins echoed with the vibration of the subway lines as he stood in the station, clutching his guitar over his shoulder helplessly- his other hand gripping his suitcase. Ranboo stood next to him, and he knew the same electrifying, or better yet terrifying, feeling was in him. Uprooting from the small town they'd grown up in to take their chances in the city was maybe the second worst idea the pair had ever stormed up. But 18 hadn't treated either of them nicely yet and Tommy was determined to change that. A job and an apartment couldn't be that hard to find if SBI was actually looking for a new guitarist. He knew, if anyone could land the position, it was him.
"We should probably find a hotel. Or a park bench." Ranboo sighs.

In other words, a rumor spread that the guitarist of SBI had stormed out on the band and they were hiring. The problem was, Tommy lived half a continent away. A problem easily fixed by a train ticket.
