The sight of joy on Somnus’ face again makes his heart swell in just such a way that’s oh so warm and pleasant to the soul, an emotional balm during the steady march towards home and a hearty lecture.

The laughter from Somnus that had once been a balm to his soul instead soured inside him, turning black and bitter like the coffee his mothers loved so dearly.
