Summary
Holly Blue isn’t a stranger to trying to snatch up Big Mama’s champions in order to reach her own goals. But her recent observations of this one strikes a bit of a personal cord as she watches him slowly give up. When Big Mama refuses to let Holly Blue meet this champion, she takes things into her own hands.
But springing him from the arena prisons was the easy part. Now Holly Blue finds herself looking after a turtle who’s not even an adult yet and seems to have lost all his zest for life. If she wants their business deal to work, she has to get to the root of the problem.
And then help him find a way to move on.

Summary
Draxum hadn't accounted for the fact that when he gave four hatchling turtles the DNA of a human being in order to give them greater intelligence, he would effectively be making himself a surrogate father to actual children, with wildly different needs.
When he sent his gargoyles to obtain a sample of DNA from Big Mama's prized warrior, the intention was to create his own. They were to be the prototypes for an army of simple creatures with just enough heightened intelligence to learn combat and follow commands, that he might defend Yokai kind with.
Instead, he quickly discovered the integration of human DNA had been a little over successful in allowing his test subjects to learn and think and feel in a civilized manner, going so far as to override some of their natural instincts as turtles that would otherwise allow them to learn to care for themselves. He had to feed them, by hand, with bottles.
Like infants.

“Yeah!” Orange agrees vehemently.
“Okay, okay, I’m not here for that, just- just hear me out,” I say carefully. All four squint at me suspiciously. Still holding my other hand up, I slowly reach for my mask with the other, then I remove it.

Summary
For sixteen long-ass years, I have believed that I was the sole surviving creation from one of Draxum’s greatest failed experiments. At least, that’s what Pops had always told me.
Now color me surprised, when I found out that there are three other turtle mutants and they have lived in the upper human city, all this time.
This revelation is just the beginning of my story. It’s one full of chaos, explosions, existential dread, pizza, parental issues, drinks, double-triple betrayals, and generally bad life choices that make me question where I fit into this world. Maybe there’s a great destiny waiting for me out there, or maybe I'll get myself killed while I’m still figuring it all out. At least, it seems I’ve found a new place I can call home, and that counts for something... right?

But for now it's time to run, it's time to run!"Leo remembers telling his brothers one night, if he ever dies, he wants to go out with this song. It would be heroic, epic, and would fit his vibe well. Besides, he loved Woodkid, and this song has been one of his favourites for approximately 6 years already! His brothers groaned in unison, making jokes about it, cause why would he wanna go out in such a sappy way?
Later on though, Donnie looked at him, like... really really looked at him while Raph and Mikey fell asleep next to them. "Don't go away soon" the youngest whispered, patting Mikey's head in his sleep. "As cool as that song would be, we still need you yaknow.”
Leo promised he is not planning to go. They're young, just barely turned 16, they have a whole life ahead of them. When the time comes, when he is a lot older and less afraid, it would be epic to have a heroic falldown. But, he doesn't want to go yet.

Left without a lot of choices, April takes her new friend to the lair and introduces her to the Turtles. While there's surprise and a little discomfort on both sides, Elsa Queen becomes a genuine member of the Hamato Clan: the little sister they never had.
Then one day, out of nowhere, Elsa shoots ice out of her hands.

Especially when that something you believed in just happens to be an extremely powerful clan of ninjas with an extremely powerful Master Shredder who would have in turn made you extremely powerful. But there, on the cusp of world domination, Casey faltered. She trusted her gut. She trusted those turtles and the annoying girl and the Lou Jitsu rat man and the Baron. In the blink of an eye, she threw away everything she had ever wanted.
No, she could fix this. There was nothing saying she HAD to tell her senseis that she had betrayed the Shredder. It's not like they saw it happen. In any case, she had an advantage now: the trust of the Hamato Clan. Surely she could earn back her rank and power with such things. In fact, she decided that this was her plan all along. Yes. All along.
She would not make the same mistake twice. Her rage would not falter.
(12/15/25 the story has currently reached the end of it's first arc. It is complete enough that you can read to chapter 10 and feel like you had a meal hopefully and not just a couple bites before it was taken away to be cooked longer. It's not a feast yet, but it's enough to chew on.)
