But he was looking at him now and in that moment he realized how incredibly wrong he’d been. Sure, he knew Dax would be mad but this…there was so much hurt in his eyes. What Jak had done had been a betrayal. And he wasn’t sure he could fix that."
Jak returns after 6 months in the Wasteland to find that Daxter isn't as quick to forgive him for leaving him behind as he thought he would be. Jak works on repairing their relationship while Daxter is forced to address the effects of making his whole world about Jak and what it means to truly live for himself.

Jak rubs a hand over his eyes and groans. "Fuck. Fine. You win, I guess." His hand drops to his thigh with an audible slap.
"Damn right, I always win, baby," Daxter says, "now, what happened, you say some shit and he punch ya?"
"No." Jak won't meet Daxter's eyes. His voice is quiet as he says, "...I, uh… I kissed him."

In the week after Jak and Daxter get together, the truth comes out regarding Jak's fractured relationship with Torn. Daxter takes it upon himself to fix it, with Tess's help.
Torn's attempt to patch things up goes wrong as his self-medication with alcohol takes a turn for the worse. The Shadow orders him to detox, and he also goes to Tess for help.
A weekend of withdrawal and shenanigans ensues.

Jak returns to Haven City after a long journey to find his mother. He found nothing but the many locations the Krimzon Guard had come to arrest her. After finding some old KG files, Jak decides to keep looking. The emotional burden was heavy on his first trip and he asks Torn to come with him. Jak and Torn are only beginning to figure out their new relationship, but Jak was gone too long for Torn to let him leave without him.

...Jak is almost on top of Jinx's lap as they converse. The demo man has his grimy hands all over Daxter's buddy, one on his hip and another in his beautiful hair that he'd just washed of the Metal Head blood, damn it -
"Ah," Tess breaks in, "it's one of those days, huh."
With a jolt, Daxter whips around and drops on his knees on top of the bar, babbling, "I'm sorry baby, don't be mad, I'll make it up to you," and she waves a hand at him, giggling.
"You're so cute when you grovel! No, don't worry about me, you take care of your boy." Her eyes flickered away. "Looks like he's striking out, by the way."
"Really? Yes!" Daxter whirls back to watch Jak slide out of Jinx's booth, looking a little put out. "Now I can steer him towards Sig…" Too late, he realizes that the booming laugh disappeared minutes ago - Sig's table was empty. "Shit."
"Orrrr," Tess draws out, "you could try what we talked about?"
