Her wrists, she realized without much concern, were suspended too. Wrapped in sticky, silky ropes that caressed and cut into her flesh and left her licking the air to better taste the iron scent of blood. Her wings were stuck too, she noticed with a weak gasp, as she tried and failed to make them twitch.
And my ankles…ah! That hurt a little, in a sweet, sharp way, when she tried to kick her feet and was met once again with the bite of the finest, softest, sturdiest rope she had ever felt.
“Mistress?” she half-breathed, half-thought. “Are you here? I have come to offer you my services.”
In which Ungoliant comes to Middle Earth, nearly slays Morgoth, and recruits a new servant within a week.

Summary
In an alternate universe where Morgoth cursed all the descendants of Míriel and their followers to be vampires and the descendants of Indis and their followers to be werebeasts, the rebellious Ñoldor have been forced to live in Beleriand for six hundred seventy six years and honor an uneasy truce that Manwë made with Melkor to preserve Arda. Now making his way in the modern world and using old magic to improve new technology, Caranthir believes that his younger brother Curufin has finally stumbled upon a way to break Morgoth's curse. There are only a few problems.
First: The cure requires an indeterminate number of Silmarils.
Two: Curufin, along with Celegorm, assaulted and attempted to kidnap Beren and Lúthien after they destroyed Tol-in-Gauroth and sent Sauron fleeing East, and they're currently two years into a ten year jail sentence.
Three: Ulmo might have forbidden Beren and Lúthien from attacking any more Úmaiarin fortresses, but he didn't say anything about Finrod Felagund, who just so happens to owe Beren's father a life debt.
Four: Finrod Felagund is Caranthir's ex-lover.

It didn't matter whether or not this was a punishment or a gift. It was an opportunity. He was back in the past, and, as far as he knew, no one else had come back with him. He had the chance to change things.
And to the Void with him if he somehow squandered it. He was going there anyway, so he might as well take Morgoth with him if given the chance.Alternatively, Maedhros awakes in Angband after the Nirnaeth. Except the sun has not yet risen and Morgoth still has all three Silmarils. Embittered by his loss, Maedhros decides that he won't let things happen the same as they did previously, even if it means killing the person he is. After all, he couldn't possibly do worse than how things had ended up before... right?
Chapters will have trigger warnings listed in the A/N at the top of the page. Please be aware that this does have canon-typical violence, torture, and assault, and is a fic depicting a slightly altered version of Maedhros' time in Angband.
Posting will probably be sporadic at best, but I will be posting 2/3, maybe even 4 chapters at a time, so keep an eye out for when I do update!

Mairon vows to himself – that blizzard spun by Melkor to keep him away, the frigid distance his Lord put there to freeze out the pain – he will get rid of it.
He will make this ice thaw.

Summary
A poem I originally posted as an interlude in "Woman of Secret Shadow". There's too much Quenyan linguistics in that one already, so I decided to separate this. Yes, I used to write poems in the Elven languages. This is a love song Fanian used to sing to Nurtalessen when they were still happy together in Aman. Here you have first the English, then the Quenyan, then a word-to-word translation of the Quenyan with explanations and other boring linguistic stuff. Apparently I can't choose more than one language for a work, so I chose Quenya for this one.

It certainly makes it easier to hide the fact he's still very proud of his past misdeeds. And future ones too, he's sure, as soon as he manages to slip from this atrociously harmonious attempt at a paradise…
When the three ages of Melkor’s captivity pass, the dark Vala seeks to sow his Discord in the Blessed Realm, hoping it will aid his escape.
Meanwhile, Mairon desperately attempts to keep a kingdom without a King from crumbling and reign the chaos with some of his own order…Series
