Summary
Klaus, upon appearing in 1960, had promptly learned three things.
The first was that ghosts can time travel. The second: Ben's not the only ghostie who can cling on for a ride.
And the third? The third thing that Klaus had learned in 1963, he had discovered a month after landing, and rediscovered every day since. He had learned that ghosts, if they're motivated enough, can invade his body and make their home there. And they never leave.

You want my coupon for a free smoothie at the gas station a couple of streets down? You want this card some guy gave me advertising his rapper career?”
“That’s- that’s all you have?” The man seems shocked, but Tommy doesn’t know why he would be. There’s nothing about him that really screams ‘wealthy and important’.
“I’m a broke college student- of course that’s all I have.”

Summary
Klaus isn’t sure what drives his next movement. He had never been particularly brave or self-sacrificing – usually leaving those stupid heroics to Luther or Diego. But he is suddenly on his feet and stepping in between the detective and the hitwoman as she pulls the trigger.
Klaus staggers back, feeling the impact of the bullet like a punch to the chest.

Klaus’s rescue from Hazel and Cha Cha plays out a little differently. Instead of escaping through the vent and disappearing into the past, Klaus takes the bullet meant for Detective Patch and bleeds out on the motel floor. The thing is, he doesn’t stay dead.
Cue, afterlife epiphanies, surprise revivals, and Diego & Ben being mother hens.

Summary

Klaus decides he needs to get some of his things to bring back to the academy and drags Diego along for the ride. They run into one of Klaus’ old ‘friends’ and shit goes down.

Things got better between all of them, and each number grew closer to one another. Klaus only wished that someone promised him that, too, when he had to return to the crypt, when he was haunted by those his siblings killed, when he was dismissed as a junkie and a disappointment. Oh, well. It seems that history will always repeat itself.
