His Mutter, rest his soul, told him to bear shelter to all travelers. The Lord will protect their home and lands for all their gracious deeds. There were far and few visitors when he was a child, but his mother always seemed like a good judge of character.
He turns to glance back at the glowing fire, and it has piddled down to a smolder, the dying embers reflecting off the sunken eyes of boar high above the fireplace. The glass eyes practically seem to move with his own movements as he reaches for the wooden bar.
“Please, it is cold.” A gentle voice whispers beyond the pine.
Ever devout Eren Jaeger holes up in his home for the winter on the plains. He wasn't expecting any visitors let alone a woman in the blizzard of the century.

This promotion could solidify all his future plans, however.
Eren had always been good at drawing and collected Legos, and he once dreamed of constructing a house for his family when the time came. "Viktor, are you all right?" Yuuri questions as he goes to reach for him. Viktor glances at both his hands and nods at Yuuri. The weight of his hands is nice against his shoulders, and he doesn’t flinch at the contact. He keeps focusing on Yuuri's hands to ground him back into reality. The voice in his head grows quieter even.
He can't find the words to respond to the man in front of him. He's afraid the voice in his head will take over his vocal cords once more and scream out at the poor man. The words are scorching his throat when Yuuri removes his hands and he fights them down.
