Summary
Electricity ripples through his side, and pain explodes in his body. He collapses onto his stomach, shoulder slamming onto the harsh metal first. He doesn’t register the pain… because it’s nothing compared to the sight below him.
His eyes lock onto the water, seeing Neteyam sink below the water. The once clear blue colour quickly turns red, blocking his field of vision.
“Neteyam!” Lo’ak tries one last time, scrambling to get up but all he gets is the same rod being jammed into his side. He yells, the sound ripped out of him when electricity courses through his body. He’s roughly grabbed by his kuru again, pulling him up. Pain explodes in his brain, but all he can think about is his brother.
Or: Neteyam survives getting shot, but Lo'ak is captured by the RDA

Summary
He plays the oldest children's game in the world; hide and seek. Only the Eye Collector plays it to death. First he kills the mother, then he kidnaps the child, and then the father has 51 hours to find his child. If he doesn't, the child will suffocate and their left eye will be removed.
The police are desperate as there is no trace of the serial killer. Until Buck meet a blind woman who claims she met the Eye collector, and managed to look into his past using her powers. She may potentially know more about the serial killer.
Buck and Taylor have less than fifty-one hours to find the Eye Collector. The clock is ticking, and the countdown has started…
Or: Buck gets caught up in an investigation of a dangerous serial killer.

Summary
“We will keep her inheritance safe, we thought about selling the house when we move back to Hershey. We can put it in her college funds,” Margaret affirms, and Buck just sits there silently accepting the blows. He knows it was coming, he knows his parents were planning to take Jee-Yun back.
Of course they weren’t going to uproot their lives, and Jee was still young enough to be able to relocate somewhere.
“A guardian is indeed allowed to keep her inheritance safe,” Their lawyer affirms, before glancing at Buck for a second. “But you haven’t been appointed her guardians in the will, he has,” She continues, gesturing to Buck. And oh…. that wasn’t what he expected.
“What?”
Or: When Chimney and Maddie are presumed dead, Buck gets appointed as Jee-Yun's guardian. On top of dealing with losing his sister and brother-in-law, he has to look after his niece and put up with his parents constantly pressuring him to give Jee to them.

Summary
The male tribute from district 4..... Evan Buckley.
Sometimes he wonders how it happened, how he ended up here. Maybe it would be better if he didn’t know, if he was blissfully ignorant to everything around him. But he knows there’s no reason to hope, no reason to want to change reality. Because that’s what it is, a sad and bitter reality.
He knows how he ended up in this situation, and he remembers the terror he felt when it was his name being called out at the reaping of the 75th annual Hunger Games.
Or: Buck is reaped in the 75th Annual Hunger Games. Together with Eddie he has to go into the arena and survive long enough for the rebels to get them out alive but even after being rescued they're not safe from the Capitol

Summary
His face was completely white, a glazed look in his eyes and swaying on the spot. “Buck?” Athena presses, and Buck seems to try and find her, eyes darting around but never fully focusing on her.
“T-Thena-“ His voice is weak, hesitant. “I-I-“ Athena sees it happen, his face scrunching up and then he’s doubling over, vomiting up on the floor.
“We need help!” Athena shouts, rushing over to Buck. Red splatters on the ground, Buck was vomiting up blood. Before she can get to him, Buck’s legs crumble from underneath him. His eyes roll in the back of his head and he falls to the ground.
Or: Buck is injured badly during the bridge collapse and doesn't notice until they get to the hospital

“Can we call someone for you?” the man asked. “A friend, a spouse?”
Buck thought of Eddie. Hen. Chimney. Bobby. He thought of them all out to dinner together at this very moment while he bled in an alley. He thought of the silence, the coldness, the looks he’d been getting from them since getting back to work.
He wouldn't have hesitated for a second to call Eddie just a few months ago.
He swallowed hard, looking back up. “No. There’s no one to call. Thanks.”
“Are you sure? You’re bleeding,” the woman pointed at her own lip, as if Buck was unaware he was bleeding from his.
“Yeah. I’m sure.”
OR: Buck is on the outs with his team after dropping the lawsuit and coming back to work. A night out with a couple guys from B-shift changes everything.

“Dad, what’s wrong?” Chris asked.
“It’s Buck,” Eddie had said quickly. That made Chris sit up a bit more.
“Did he get hurt again?”
“No, uh. He…” his dad trailed off, looking somewhere off in the distance. Chris could tell his dad was trying to gather his thoughts so he could speak deliberately. It’s something that Chris had been trying to implement in his own life. Thinking before he speaks.
“He’s been struggling,” Eddie said slowly. “When he was in the hospital after what happened in New Mexico, they prescribed him some really strong painkillers. And it’s been hard for him to… wean himself off them.”

Buck quirks an eyebrow. “I thought you didn’t panic.”
“I don’t,” Eddie insists. “But I woke up in the wrong body this morning, and I had to—” He lowers his voice, ducking closer to Buck. “I touched your dick, man. Which—you know.”
A violation of boundaries. A line that can’t be uncrossed. Something Eddie feels deeply guilty about.
“You touched my dick?” Buck asks, approximately one billion decibels louder than necessary.
The room around them stills.
Or: Buck and Eddie switch bodies. Chaos ensues.
