It was a widely known fact within the Temple, that the Temple Guards stationed at the Coruscant Temple were experiencing a ‘shortage’ at the moment. Seeing as Knights were sent out to complete missions and went on protective details, they were also the Corp that was responsible for the Temple Guards.

“What is it?”
The boy was alone. No one else was around despite it being the middle of the night. Just the boy who made a bee-line for Obi-Wan. He was way too young to be out at this time let alone out here all alone. It was the boy’s training armour that tipped Obi-wan off that this was more than just a lost child.
“I have a youngling in front of me. There is no one else around and I am pretty sure he’s Mandalorian.”
Quinlan paused, then asked, “...Come again?”
Obi-Wan peered down at the child tugging at his arm. “Aran, ner echoy'la.”
Kriff. “Correction, I have a Mandalorian boy in front of me telling me he’s lost.”

The Jedi have been taking requests directly from groups of concerned citizens on the planet who have concerns they feel are too big to be addressed by planetary officials (or that officials will ignore). The Senate decides they don't like this. The Jedi can change or leave. They leave.
This changes a lot of things - but some things, no matter the universe, stay the same. One such thing is the way the Jedi treat the clones with decency and respect. Another is just how much everyone else really, really doesn't. But a world where the Jedi cannot openly stand between the clones and everyone else is a world where everyone else can escalate to horrifying degrees.

Hello! Welcome to another Whumptober AU:) In a reversal from last year, this fic is mostly clone whump and Jedi support. I thought it was going to be mostly linear, but there are some times when I jump around the timeline a little bit. If you want me to, I can create a timeline like I did last year, though some chapters might have to feature twice, because I seem to be unable to write only one snippet for each day. “All I have to bet is my divinity, right?” Xie Lian asks. It’s not like he needs it or even wants it. He doesn’t exactly want this ghost’s ashes either, but that’s neither here nor there.
He wants to spar.
TLDR: Xie Lian ascends during Hua Cheng's battle against 33 gods. Gods panic around him, but all Xie Lian wants to do is cross blades with an attractive Ghost King.

He presses their foreheads together, and in another life, this would be a grave imposition, touching a crown prince, a god, so freely, but Xie Lian welcomes it. It’s not a rag over his mouth. It’s not a sword.
Or, Wuming turns into a Wrath sooner into the temple scene, helps Xie Lian recover from his injuries, and teaches him it’s never a mistake to care.
