“How many dates is this?” Verity asks, idly. “At some point, don’t you have to start wondering if he’s the problem, not the dates.”
“Thank you for your input, Vee,” Mobius sighs. “Don’t you have some tables to check up on? Or...”
He loses his train of thought as the man at the table leans forward languidly like a cat, resting his elbows on the table and gifting his current date with a Cheshire smile. A finger decorated with two thin gold rings above the middle knuckle traces around the edge of the highball glass suggestively and a lock of raven’s wing black hair falls out of his stylishly messy top knot and across his face.
Mobius wonders why someone like that feels the need to work so hard for attention, but the guy in the polo shirt with the perfect teeth sitting across from him barely seems to appreciate it so maybe that’s why. Mobius sure as hell is having a hard time looking away. The slit in that skirt is probably going to kill him before the night is over.
OR
Mobius works at the bar that Loki brings all his first dates to. None of them go well. Maybe someone needs a shoulder to cry on?

Summary

Loki fought internally for a moment before he gave up all pretense of composure, shouting in raw frustration towards the heavens.
Oh shit, I broke him. Mobius thought.
Loki turned to Mobius, desperate, angry. “Why are you just some man in his kitchen with the powers to traverse space and time? Why did I end up in that woman’s gaudy dining hall? And why are you helping me?”
Mobius smiled tiredly. It was the same questions every time. And he either didn't know, or couldn't truly answer.

When Sylvie kicks Mobius through a time door, Mobius never expected to land in Asgard 2011 on the sacred timeline, right before Loki stages the Frost Giant attack in the weapons vault. He also never expected to survive long enough to become someone important to Loki and maybe even fall in love with him again.

Summary
Loki tried so hard to be good. He didn't bite back, he ignored the words thrown at him, he just wanted to keep Mobius safe. He prided himself on not listening to others, but when the words cut too deep, it might be too late. The monster inside of him can only stay calm for so long.
