...A Selection is held for Tim to find his future spouse, much to his misery and suspect reasoning. Kon is chosen to participate, but only determined to stick around to spend time with his friends and help Tim pick the right person. Summary
Tim will be the first to admit that he wasn’t the most well adjusted child, but this all seemed excessive. So what if his Mama had a special diet she and Tim both stuck to for most of his 13 years that the both of them were alive, it didn’t mean that she was hurting him or anything. It was nutritional and everything.
It wasn’t like she was starving or anything, in fact she encouraged him to eat whenever he wanted to. It was his dad who wanted him to eat less, or at least eat less meat. The amount of times that Mama had ended dinner by yelling at him probably did more damage to his childhood than anything else, barring the whole seeing the Grayson’s die in front of him.

His new feeling was more of a conscious desire, but still from an origin beyond what Kaneki knew as human, from a place of a ghoul’s base instincts. It showed itself as a persistent craving for Hide, in a way that was more than just wanting him as a human to eat. It was a longing to put his mouth onto all of him, to take Hide’s body in every way that Kaneki, and only Kaneki, could. To bite into Hide as if it could express at least half of the energy that had built itself up within Kaneki towards him. To hold Hide with every limb and kagune appendage that he could so that nobody else could even think of touching him.

Kaneki experiences new and strong urges towards Hide, influenced by his ghoul status. Even when Kaneki fears he's undeserving of Hide's acceptance of him as he is, Hide continues to give it unconditionally.
