Eddie turned his head at the sound, eyes widening when he saw the man behind the deep voice. Oh, he was cute. Real cute for a bartender. He may have even been the cutest thing Eddie had seen all year, maybe longer.
Now this was the type of guy Eddie was looking for. And from the looks of his cute little pride pin next to his name tag on his vest, he had some good odds of getting into his pants. A Steve, huh? The name suited him, with that all American hunk thing he had going on. The exact kind of guy that Eddie loved to fuck into the mattress until they cried.
He'd do just fine.

Summary
Kim Seungmin, despite attending college in New York City for two years now, has had no unfavourable run-ins with crime or danger. He is very much proud of the fact.
That is until he has a near death experience at an armed robbery and accidentally helps Spiderman evade a bullet to the head. Now, danger seems to follow wherever he goes, and it just so happens that the admired superhero does too.
It certainly doesn't help with his demanding schedule. Between his job at the Empire Bean cafe, attending lectures held by his crazy professor, and pining over a recent crush on a beautiful dancer at his school, Seungmin isn't quite sure how he's going to make it out of this semester alive.

“There was a fire. At the mall. I worked there? At Scoops Ahoy.”
The way he says the last part sounds strange, like it’s really important somehow that Eddie believes him.
“Okay,” he says, then adds, “Is that why you look like that?”
Eddie’s never met a fire with fists, but he wants Steve to tell him what happened—not just assume.
There’s a beat of silence, like Steve’s weighing his options, and Eddie knows a lie’s coming before Steve even opens his mouth.
“Yeah. Building caved in. We made it out—Robin and I. Paramedics checked me over and said I couldn’t drive, so I decided to walk.”
Almost ten miles, Eddie estimates. Sure. Totally normal thing to do in the middle of the night, battered and bruised, after escaping a fire.
But he’s pretty sure that’s all he’s going to get, so he settles on, “Good thing I came along, then.”
“Yeah.”

His hand goes automatically to his neck, near his jaw, tries to see if he can feel—
Ah. Okay. Yep. Already scabbed over the injection site. Must’ve been something else this time, like probably a bigger needle. Sedative to start, maybe. Like the appetizer course.
Steve starts chuckling to himself—no off-the-books truth serum needed to get hysterical, not this time—as he tosses himself to lying back down, only then really clocking the cuffs on his wrists and, well.
At least he’s not in a fucking sailor suit.

Or: Steve gets kidnapped by the Russians. Again. This time he’s alone.
And this time they’re stupid enough to try to demand a ransom from his family.
