Summary
The Sakurayashiki kitchen is a mess. Various bowls with unidentifiable globs of mixtures lay on what counter space was available, melted chocolate streaked on everything from tabletops to counter knobs to random spots on the floor. There was a bowl, balanced precariously over a pot, that was threatening to bubble over with what was definitely burning chocolate.
"Shit!" Kaoru swears, running over to lower the heat on the stove. He uses his spatula to mix the chocolate in the bowl, cursing again.
"I take it that didn't work?" Kojiro guesses, his gaze on the assortment of molds laid out on a corner of the kitchen table. A selection of nuts and fruits in a small dish. A page torn off a notebook, filled with Kaoru's neat handwriting, listing flavors and observations—research, he realizes then, into the preferences of a boy who isn't Kojiro.
You ever help the boy you like make homemade chocolates for someone else on Valentine's Day?Yeah, neither has Kojiro.

Though, Toge already knew it wasn’t just his throat that was injured.
The stained petals swirling in the porcelain basin told him that much.
Because, after all he had been through, life thought it would be freaking hilarious to plop him into the middle of some obscure romance manga. The kind that had a tragic ending.
Because Hanahaki wasn’t real.
And Toge Inumaki was, succinctly, fucked.

It's only their second sleepover. They're still not used to the ins and outs of sharing a bed and space. Oka pushes himself up to peer over the edge of the mattress and watch in wonder as Hiromi starts doing crunches.
“What are you doing?” Oka asks him, voice cracking a little.
Hiromi slows, but he doesn’t stop.
“Morning exercises,” he says simply.
Oka tsks and tries to cajole him, “Come back to bed.”
He shifts against the bed a little, not yet entirely sure yet how best to be enticing. Hiromi's movements falter and he slowly comes to a stop, looking Oka over with lidded eyes.
“I can’t,” Hiromi says apologetically. “It’s S tonight.”Alternatively: Hiromi struggles to maintain his abs as easily as he'd like; he thinks this is a major issue, Oka does not.

It shouldn’t be able to invoke as much giddiness and fear as it did, not when he fought deadly curses on a near-daily basis without breaking so much as a sweat, but here he was.
“Tonight is the perfect time to tell him, Yuuta. You can’t just keep it bottled forever.”
“I can and will," Yuuta protested, unconvincingly.
Or; four times Yuuta tries and fails to confess to Toge, and the one time that Toge did it for him.
